Robert Lewandowski's agent: Manchester? Its always raining there.

calm down dear, I couldnt really give a shit about lewandowski and is agent... point being is does rain in Manchester non-stop.

he left Polski a very long time ago..I can imagine his heated mansion is very warm for him, coupled with a warm cosey car ride to work, stretching his legs into a nice air-conditioned training session, with a slow jog in his tracksuit and snood back to his warm car to said mansion with heated tiles.

I'm perfectly calm though, my point is that Robert comes from a country where it's not always sunny, plays in a country where it's not always sunny and is not a South American or Iberian player (pardon my generalisation here, I'm well aware that it's not always sunny there as well) that he'd feel homesick due to fog, rain or generally speaking shit weather.

Folk generally go where the money is. That said, who wouldn't want to live Barcelona whilst having millions to spend and all. Lifestyle eh.

Probably yea, although I'm pretty sure that Robert is well aware that he wouldn't get ahead of Suarez, Neymar or Messi so he'd have to be a benchwarmer there, with that he probably wouldn't be content.

Who knows about Madrid though.

I think we'll be financially too powerful for the Spanish clubs...in a few years. We won't have the weather but we'll have tons more cash to offer to players.

Yes, ancient times - 5 years ago. He went to warm and sunny Dortmund and then to tropical paradise Munich.

Yeah because Liverpool and Chelsea were actually strong back then and proved it in Europe as well. Put them in the current league in which teams are so good that they cannot buy a win in Europe and they'd dominate.

Besides we won all titles bar one between 2006 and 2011 and the only time we lost out was extremely unlucky.
But Liverpool did not even come close to competing for the title in those years did they? I agree that the PL is the hardest to win but it has nothing to do with the quality of the teams. In fact, I think our average teams are of lesser quality than Spain's and even Germany's and have been even in those years. The PL is still the hardest because the underdog fighter mentality that lower teams play with is more suited to stopping you from playing and making your life hell. Average teams in Germany and Spain still relatively go out and try to play football which makes them better overall teams but makes it easier for Bayern, Real and Barcelona to beat them. English teams have lesser footballing quality but play with more emphasis on making life as difficult as possible when coming up against superior opponents. You can even apply that to our best teams and look how they play against the best in the continent; Liverpool, Chelsea and even ourselves approach games against Real, Barcelona and Bayern with the purpose to counter their footballing superiority. It is for this that I think the PL is actually the hardest to win.

Munich and Paris are great and all. But yeah for climate Spain's better.

I think this talk of climate is just code for 'Barca and Real preferred'. Plenty of top players have happily played in England.

We need more northerners like Henrik Larsson who played for Celtic all those years, who wouldn't mind Manchester.

I can understand Brazilians and Spaniards balking at England but Germans and Poles should be down.

In 2008-09 they did, they did better in the league back then than in 2013-14 but had superior United ahead of them. That Liverpool team would walk the current league I feel.

Possibly but even then who the hell would turn down the chance to play for one of the biggest clubs in the universe whilst earning a bob or two? If climate was an issue no one'd play north of South Europe. Surely given the option Barcelona seems more attractive than others places but Rome's better and players aren't queuing up to play in Italy. It's all about the money money and quality of the league.

I was actually talking about the 06-09 period but fair enough. I feel you're ignoring the chaotic and unpredictable nature of the PL and just assuming that if you have a "normal" good team, it will win it. The PL is just different because of the factors I stated in the previous post. It's what makes it exciting but also directly contributes in its overall inferior quality.

Don't want a player who goes where his agent tells him to.

I'd never understand why do this players need agents in the first place, are they not capable of managing their finances themselves.

Most of them are not, clubs and contracts between clubs and players are usually ran by some accountants, people with knowledge regarding finances, getting most for your employer and so they construct contracts in such a way that would profit them the most. I don't think I'd lie if I said that many if not the most of the football players can't count to potato and they'd get shafted in contract negotiations thus they find somebody who can help them with it.

Usually those football agents are alright, want the best for their player and usually can find a decent compromise with the club. Then you've got people like Raiola, Mendes and (with proportions) Kucharski who are huge cnuts and you just have to hate them as a fan/football club.

Thanks for the education in climates, I used to live in Spain for 3 years (marbella) , from freezing england. Im quite aware of the weather in Poland and pretty much every northern and southern hemisphere country, im getting on a bit and have travelled the globe every now and then, thanks for enlightening me this afternoon on Polski weather.

The thread may as well be a met office seminar at this speed of knots.

I just don't get all you guys taking comments from an agent to heart, I mean it does rain a lot n Manchester.

Of course they aren't. A large proportion of footballers don't have a huge amount of education or life experience, and are handed huge contracts at a young age.
They need guidance, and say what you want about agents but they do offer advice and assistance to their players and some do actually give a shit.

If agents didn't exist footballers would find a way to cope just fine with their finances. Some would go broke, someone would invest and become even richer. Just like the normal person.

That said, in some ways an agent to a football player is almost the equivalent to an EA.

I've just been in Munich for a few days and it's very much like England IMO. Lots of drunk people for Oktoberfest, it's cold and it's a bit dour (as are the people)...some nice bits but i wasn't overly impressed.

Kucharski is a money nose and a disgrace to football. In the end only the lowest of neogiators will be outclassed by this clown.

Whats he talking about when he mentions atmosphere there? No league can out do the noise level of the prem.
Offtopic but that is completely wrong. A lot of Bundesliga clubs and basically every bigger eastern europe club easily matches any PL atmosphere. Thanks to PL stadiums being all seaters and ticket prices are skyrocking the PL clubs cannot compete with clubs like Belgrad, Dresden, PAOK, Istanbul etc.. Due to the seats being really close to the pitch the occasional 'Aaaaahhh, Ohhh' sounds loud on TV but in terms of permanent support I'd only consider Palace, WHU and Stoke as good atmosphere.

Ontopic: Lewandowskis agent is a moron of the highest grade, the shit he stirred up at Dortmund was unbelievable. Munich is definetly a nicer place than Manchester but the rain argument is completely bullshit.

You have to be there in the summer. I've lived in both cities and I can tell you there's a big difference.

5mm a year more to be precise. Fecking nowt in other words. Rainy manchester is a myth traced back to some dodgy weather chart 100 years ago.

Warmer though on average

Absolutely this. The amount of disrespect Dortmund got from him was staggering, for someone who follows Polish media it's even more shocking because he was on the verge of calling them names for being such a small shit club that does not deserve Lewandowski. I am amazed that Dortmund fans don't have more hatred for him.

Most agents don't manage the finances of their clients, they themselves hire accountants and lawyers for that. An agent help the player negotiate contracts and find commercial deals and sponsors.

But does that require different skills than an accountant has or even a lawyer ? Because those contracts involve legal issues too, right?

Oh they did hate him but Lewandowski kinda made up for that with his brilliant work ethic in his final flawless season at Dortmund where a lot people expected that he might play shit now after they refused to let him go. Which makes me wonder even more why someone with that attitude seems happy to keep that joke of an agent.

Yeah Lewandowski has been fully professional which works as a sort of apology for his agent. I have had the pleasure (haha) of meeting Kucharski in person when he was involved with Górnik Łęczna, he's absolute weapon.
