Robert Lewandowski

Quite the player, isn't he? Just looks like the complete forward - pace, strength, touch, hold up play, link up play and one hell of a finish.

F*ck it, I don't want him to leave this Dortmund side. They've been the best team to watch literally in years. Far more entertaining than the boring super tiki taka Barca. Up there with the best of our counter-attacking teams, probably be better with their midfield control and risk-taking.

The same ballsack who claims there's something going on between United and Falcao?

Yeah. There's someone in the thread that says he is Bayern player. Where is this coming from? Raph Honigstein was saying that the move had got difficult and I'd believe him more than the useless Spanish clown.

I can't imagine the Dortmund board being stupid enough to sell Gotze AND Lewandowski to their main title rivals in one summer.

Depends if there is another release clause, and if Lewandowski would move elsewhere or only wants Bayern.

He has one year left on his contract. Not much Dortmund can do if he wants to go there.

Like how we signed RVP.

I think with Gotze already having gone though, this would be a situation where it's worth more to let the contract run down and take your chances that he signs with someone else on a free than to more or less give away your chance of being competitive for the next couple of years. Shifting the balance of power that heavily in Bayern's favor could wrap up the next several Bundesliga titles without question.

Had fantastic chemistry with Kagawa and this season he has shown he can be a heck of a player without him too. He has a touch of the Berbatov's about him (in terms of style on the ball, not vision) I dont think we need him at all but if we have the chance for them to replicate their linkup play I can see exactly why Sir Alex would be keen. Having said that Falcao and Cavani are better yes, but are they really going to come to United and be okay with being on the bench when Hernandez and Welbeck are picked for example? They can go to any club they choose, they'll probably choose one where they are the clear first choice and everyone else is rotated around them. Plus I'd fully expect them both to cost a lot more than Lewandowski.

I should have just said "better than"

On the plus side we were linked with Kagawa long before we actually signed him. It looked like there was no smoke without fire and then we picked him up this summer. If we do go on to sign Bobby it'll have sort of mirrored that transfer, minus the longterm injury Kagawa had

What a performance. If anyone did not know this lad before, everyone will know about him now. He is still only 24. He is going to go on and become one of the best strikers in the world. The way he took his third goal was amazing. His first touch to take it away from Varane and then even though he was falling back, he struck that ball with so much power, Lopez had no chance.

How would we fit him in?

Hernandez isn't getting enough games as it is, so how exactly would this signing make any sense?

Some on here keep banging on about the RVP saga when someone says that we don't need him, but as our success in the league proves, we did need RVP. This signing would be a waste unless we're offloading Hernandez or Rooney.

He still only has a year on his contract though, so he'll probably still go cheap(er).

Watzke said he wants 30 mio. € for him or he is staying another year because that is the money he sees him potentially bringing them in competition money if he keeps playing for Dortmund another year.

On top of that there will probably be quite a few interested parties and I'm sure there will be teams among them willing to pay that money.

It's all big talk but they usually cave in. Like Wenger with RVP and Nasri.

That 3rd goal was different class. I love a striker with his head down who just knows where the goal is.

Looks like he's finally proved himself to the people who've only ever watched Dortmund on ITVs Champions League highlights. Shame that his best ever season could actually finish with no medals around his neck.

I hope City don't sniff too much around him. Fans will lick his bollocks considering his Poznan connection.

Nah Watzke usually isn't the kind to do that and he is right though. Why sell if the price isn't right if he scores like this season his goals will make sure they qualify for the CL again which is worth a good 25-55 mio. € so I can totally understand his valuation of the player at that price even with only one year left.

On top of that it would give them one more year to find a suitable replacement or integrate one into the team a bit more.

Got an awful feeling he's off to City. They need a striker, they'll be prepared to play silly money, they'll offer him the highest wages and could probably swing the deal by including Dzeko too.

The talk is that he's agreed personal terms with Bayern but no agreement between the clubs yet. Doubt Dortmund would let him and Gotze goto Bayern in the same season.
