Robert Lewandowski

The Bundesliga has effectively become a one horse race. Dortmund's success was the best thing to happen to the Bundersliga since Leverkusen came along, and the same thing happened to them, Bayern bought all their players.

 I said last night that i think Bayern could have done with Lewandowski more than Gotze but now they could be getting both. Ridiculous.

To be fair that it is fecking ludicrous if the 2nd biggest club in the country sell their two biggest players to the biggest club in the country in the space of a few days. Utterly insane.

That's like us signing Aguero and Silva from City, or Real Madrid signing Messi and Iniesta.

Like I said before, the Bundesliga isn't as competitive as some let on. There's only one big team, as great as Dortmund have been they're never realistically gonna be as big as Bayern.

If Bayern do get Lewandowski then you have to say that Dortmund, and the Bundesliga, will be a laughing stock.

Not sure why these clubs keep having buyout clauses in their contracts. Makes me thankful as to how our club is run anyway.

Jesus, and people think the Bundesliga is decent..

You started again talking bullshit?

In the last 10 years Bundesliga has had more champions than Serie A, La Liga or Premier League. Bayern in the last 10 years won the same amount of titles as United.

In fairness, about 10 years ago Bayern helped keep Dortmund alive with an emergency loan...selling a few players at premium prices to them is a pretty fair little reward, especially if the players want to go.

This is the story but it seems pretty fake to me and Hongstein or whatever the German expert is said that Munich are yet to bid for Lewa.

Sure there has been apparently no contact from an official rep of Bayern over the Goetze deal, so that makes feck all of a difference. They could still get him without doing diddly squat.

Wasn't it similar the way Martinez moved? Did a medical sorted out his terms then came back to the Spanish Fa with the cash and said right I'm off for some schnitzel.

SAF did say that Bayern were strong on this player , now it's whether he feels there is an alternative to Lewandowski out there or will he give it a miss.

Twitter says that Jupp Heynckes's agent has confirmed that Bayern Munich have signed Lewandowski.

This is good news because it means that we don't sign him and neither do any of our PL rivals.

Your obsession with Rooney is verging on homo. Do you support united just because Wayne Rooney plays here?

EDIT: You don't need to answer that, your name says it all.

He's very good but I don't think he's top bracket like Cavani or Falcao, just slightly below them.

If Chelsea, City or whoever get either of those instead, I'll be more worried than if they had Lewandowski.

He's done a damn sight more than Cavani has to earn a 'top bracket' status.

Well done.

Give yourself a pat on the back for passing on that pearl of information.

Makes it nice and competitive next year then!

But thank goodness that ends what was a silly thread.

Even some guy on the metro after the game on Monday was telling me why we needed Lewandowski.

"Well....if VP gets injured and Rooney's out of form, well, Hernandez doesn't do it that often from the start, and Welbeck can't be relied on for goals."
:wenger:

Quite bonkers logic in perhaps the one area of the team we're 100% sorted in.

Umm. Do we really need a striker? Does it make any sense selling Rooney/Hernandez to buy Lewandowski when a striker is pretty much the last position we need to strengthen? I'd much rather we spend money on a winger to replace Nani and a midfielder than on a Lewandowski or Falcao. We have enough quality strikers

Gotze had a buy out clause. Lewandowski has one year left on his contract, unless there's a similar clause - and it's never been mentioned - he can't simply walk away.

If Fergie wants him, then yes there is fecking sense in it. Do you think he's lost his marbles? You're a retard if you think he's just suddenly got a hard on for strikers at the moment, there's always method in what he does. It's like this idea that he doesn't like signing midfielders because he signed a few duds in the past. Does anyone believe this shit when they come out with it?

Not making the same mistake as I did with RVP when I thought we shouldn't get him because we needed to strengthen elsewhere.

Lewandowski is quality. If we can get him we should go all out. Worry about fitting all of them later. He's that good.

So, still not World Class right?

feck this. Rooney in midfield, since we are not going to get anyone for the position anyway, and let's sign him.

If there is doubt still, there you have it.
