Robert Lewandowski | Bayern Munich

Even better than Ole versus Forest. Good goals aswell.

But Ole went on for Cole quite later IIRC..

Also recalled Berba's five against Bburn, even if it was in the whole game, Lewa's volley at 5th goal was quite Berbatov-esque..

Reading the commentary he also hit the post and had a shot saved in the middle of those 5 goals!

The one against the post came off back to him and then he took a swipe and it hit the keeper and it bounced up and he lobbed it over the defenders for one of the goals.

He did have one cleared off the line by a defender and another he probably should have shot but, tried to be unselfish and also an incredible block stopped another possible goal.

4th and 5th were especially great on the eyes

fact that wolfsburg isn't just some no mark third division side makes this achievement all the more impressive.

Just seen the goals. Robert Lewandowski, take a bow son.

It was all in one moment, before his third - he hit the post, then had his rebound saved by the keeper and then he finally finished it. So it's not like he could've scored twice there

That fifth goal  Chill the feck out!

A rare breed of world class striker , that theres so few of these days, I`ll always remember the 4 goals he scored against RM while at Dortmund

Stunned. Hopefully Martial can reach his level. Why wasn't he starting?

That fifth goal is reminiscent of Ibrahimovic' volley against France in Euros 2012, but even better. Ridiculous finish.

He received a knock on his ankle in the CL match and just came back.

No. Normal rotation. Pep prefers to play with 3 real midfielders. So it is one winger right now and two of Lewy, Müller and Götze. The game changed when he had the Wolfsburg defense confronted with two strikers.

And Lewy had his clinical day - atleast in this 9 minutes. He can be a lot more wasteful.

@Blackwidow

I still think that knock played a role in being a sub rather than a starter, but you're right, of course, one of those three has to be benched (especially when we're playing with 2 real wingers). Something the german media isn't getting when it comes to Götze who isn't playing from minute 1.

Lewy and Müller are best when played together. Wolfsburg's defenders are for sure capable to deal with one of them. I doubt that it e.g. would have been different when he would have started with Lewy instead of Müller. And I think his idea was to get more going through the middle as crosses against this Wolfsburg defense is not a good recipe either. So he started with the small ones - and Costa (who on the left is more a provider, on the right more drawing to the inside) on the right. That is why he e.g. started with Bernat and not with Rafinha. (Martinez just came back some minutes against Darmstadt - he was not in for 90 minutes)

With Martinez in the back four - Alaba back on the left - and Alonso + Vidal behind Müller there was then enough stability to shield a front four.

Pep has a real problem - he has to keep too many players happy.
