Yeah, I said it in Vardy's thread yesterday - Mahrez is their best player and the best in the league currently. Vardy's scoring is getting all the attention (understandably) and Mahrez has been flying under the radar a little bit since October. Newcastle game was the perfect example - Mahrez was by far the MOTM and created a few fantastic chances for Vardy which he wasted. The latter's record, however, means everybody is looking at him now.

Honestly, I paid no attention to Mahrez (and Liecester in general) last season. I've got no idea if this is just some extraordinary period of great form and if he's going to keep it up. He's amazing at the moment though.

He was good last season too when i watched him, I like the way he dribbles with the ball and seems to be a team player.

He was pretty good last year also but not this consistently. Probably helps now that there's a striker ahead of him that can finish whereas last season he created chances that were constantly wasted.

Algeria has got quite a decent offense with Brahimi, Mahrez, Slimani and Feghouli.

He reminds me of a premier league style di Maria. Maybe doesn't work quite have his engine, but the vision, dribbling and ability to carry the ball is very similar.

Only downside is the AFCON but 1 player won't hurt. Really do think he would add something different to us.

Not so sure about that, although granted I only really watched him at the beginning of the season. Undoubtedly a top class dribbler but whenever I've seen him he's been one of the greediest player's I've ever seen.

Maybe make it a condition of his contract that he retires from international football?

The more I see of him, the more I'm convinced he has the potential to be a great player.

Saying that, I thought Obertan would be a world beater, so I have no idea what I'm talking about clearly.

Why would he leave to join someone beneath his current club?

Seems stupid to me

Go on, bite!
Leicester is hardly a Hollywood kind of town. Manchester is a much bigger metropolis that attracts all the biggest stars in the world. Can't really compete with that.

While Vardy's having a blinder he'll likely never replicate, because there's just too much missing from his overall game, Mahrez looks a real baller.

I thought he looked very decent last season as well.

He was very good at the end of the last season also in that relegation escape run.

Obertan looked great on youtube, but never really had any decent numbers and rarely started even for Bordeaux, he was a true punt in every sense, and it didn't work out. Mahrez has been consistently great in the PL for a year now, this isn't just a flash in the pan IMO. He has shown enough to his game to show he has the ability, it just depends if his mentality can handle the extra pressure.

he likes to play attacking football..hed be wasted at united.

We should buy him and Vardy in Jan....and also get Mane and Moura!

From the slowest we would become the fastest team in the universe.

Brilliant player, Vardy gets all the headlines but Mahrez has been so much more impressive for me.

Would love to see him at United, but I'd fear that LVG would limit his attacking potency.

Totally agree...look what he did to ADM.

I can't decide if I would like him at United or whether I'm just amazed at any player that is able to dribble with the ball. Past an opponent too. It's unreal how these players do it.

Before buying exciting attacking player, either LVG should leave first or he should change mentality (which won't happen). The main pb has to be solved before even looking at players.

I was sceptical earlier in the season (as is shown a few pages back) but at this point I am starting to think this guy is the real deal. Still not sure I would want to be paying stupid money for him, but as a Young/Valencia 'style' signing, and give him the chance to show what he can do.

we have money to burn.

Get him and Mane in January if possible.

We do, although I don't think we should be going for both Mane and Mahrez.

Mahrez is the better player in my opinion, so I'd rather have him, along with a quality striker and we're good to go.

Yep, agree with this. Mahrez has improved a lot since the end of last season (particularly in terms of his decision making) when he was starting to emerge, and that probably bodes well for the future. Some of the things he does are still not up to scratch, he's not a Griezmann or Bale level player, and might never be, and still hasn't proven himself at the highest level - but we need to build a better squad across the board. Between him and Mané, I'd rather Mahrez - seems more exciting of the two and the time might be right for him to make the step up. Should be either/ or between them anyway, or there's a risk of things going kaput if we over-invest on players who can't adjust to the pressure of playing at United, rather than mixing them up with proven quality to hedge our bets.

Edit: Lulz, poster above basically said the same thing.

Seems to have a decent mentality too, might become a Douglas Costa-esque revelation if he ends up at a topclub.

I would prefer Mane to be honest but Mahrez is performing brilliantly.

I've seen enough, take a punt and offer an offer than can't refuse.

No doubt Van Gaal will have him stop and passing none stop if he signed.
