Right Winger... Who do we go for?

He’s gone with different shapes through out the years but most recently it’s been 4231 and both those players would fit in that as well.

I wouldn’t mind 352 but I’d hope it was played more like a 3142 but with the players we have in the squad currently it should be 433 in which case maybe another right option should be brought in. If I’m not mistaken Malcom is left footed playing on the right.

Thinking about it there aren’t any truly great right footed wingers that are say more traditional in style of play now. Most of them are all inside forwards or playing on the opposite side. Probably a symptom of the offensive fullback evolution.

I think that we should go 3-1-4-2.

I know he loves 4-3-2-1 but that requires two debent full backs that cover the flanks and two narrow wingers that roam.
We don't really have the tools with which to get the most 'juice' out of that system.

So I'm with you in terms of what would ideally like to see with (roughly) this set of players.

70m-100m Sane (should have got him instead of Miki)

In what world would City sell us one of their best prospects, being already a very good player? Goretzka will go to Bayern.

I would buy Hazard, Morata, Alexis Sanchez, Coutinho, Salah, Sane, De Bruyne, Aguero, Jesus, Kane and Alli.

Why do you have a problem with that plan?

Unless I missed something, why are people trying to convince themselves that Goretzka is joining Bayern? He is going to be a free agent, so pretty much has his fate in his hands.
Bayern have Rudy, Thiago, Tolisso, Vidal and Javi Martinez for midfield positions with Kimmich and Alaba as options. He will choose the club he sees fit.

It was already reported in September he signed a pre contract. Don’t know if true.
 
Guedes plays on the left for Valencia and isn't a winger, he's a wide forward who mainly cuts in to shoot and link up.

He can play anywhere in attack. The guy will only get better. The problem with inverted wingers is that we lose width and our ability to stretch teams. If we have Martial and Rashford cutting inside, we should compensate by having a winger who can run to the byline and cross the ball for Lukaku. I would like Malcolm, Pulisic as well but Guedes offers a difference in attack.
 
Lets hope for now that mkh comes to his senses and start producing on the right wing as needed.

It's not true, he has to wait until January winter window open where he can be free to negotiate with clubs and sign pre-contract to join them next summer on free transfers unless Schalke 04 wants to sell him to other clubs that are interested in him.
 
As much as I like mahrez, zaha just plays with an eagerness .. I dont see that same effort from mahrez
 
IMO we need a winger who hugs the touch line,drag players with him and has the ability to beat a man to put in a decent cross,i don't really care if he is a goal scorer or not, right now we don't have goal providers but scorers in abundance(Martial,Rashford,Lukaku,Pogba). Pogba is the sole provider or creator that we have and our over reliance on him has cost us points like we saw when he was out with injury.Honestly i am sick of seeing Valencia failing to cross most of the times,Just need someone on the right to put in some decent crosses in the box and i am sure Lukaku or someone else will get on the end of it.This will decrease the burden on Valencia as well since he pretty much plays on the Rw by himself. So is anyone who could play like this there in the market to be bought? Please suggest.

If we could we would. The total lack of rumours linking him to us is telling, he'll be at City in the summer.

I only think he was surplus to requirements there, not sure if they had a falling out.

Still a very high chance of trophies and a huge sign on fee coupled with monster wages will have Alexis forgetting all about his time under Pep at Barca.

He is going to sign the last contract of his career, and at the moment City look the most likely out of us and them for trophies in the short term.

Sanchez never plays on the RW anymore, he's purely LW or striker. Both area's of the pitch we just don't need more players for right now.

Let's stop buying fancy names and get players who will actually improve what we need.

In theory sounds good, but i don't think i could stomach another 6 months of being told we've sold the second coming of christ every time he plays well and Pedro and/or new winger don't.

Yeah, I think he's always had a good relationship with Pep and was sold purely due to being out of favour. It was the players I always felt he never really got on with whenever I watched Barca around that time.

He doesn't play on the right for Arsenal but he can play there to a better standard than anyone we have. Plus we don't know if he doesn't play there now due to preferring the left or because that's where Wenger prefers him. I also think he'd make a fine #10, too. Either way, we wouldn't be buying Alexis just because he's a fancy name; he's one of the best players in the league who'd improve any team in said league.
