Right, the ask me anything about cricket thread.

I was asking between the red and the white ball. I know the difference between the two brands - the biggest of which is the pronounced seam on the duke.

Kookaburra and Duke both produce white versions of their test grade red balls. Kookaburra say there white balls are exactly the same as the red versions, apart from the colour of the leather.

The manafacturers say that the difference in swing is a myth, yet all the players will tell you there is a big difference.

Players also say the white ball is harder.

There's definitely a visible difference but that could just be down to an illusion - the white ball is easier to pick up than the red ball.

What ever happened to Shaun Tait, the young bowling prospect the Aussies brought over with them for the 2005 Ashes series?

He took a break from cricket early last year.

He was playing for Chipstead, Coulsdon & Walcountians in Division 5 of the Surrey Championship.

I think he made the Australia Twenty20 squad in England.

He didn't. CA made him stand down from the IPL(thereby losing a bit of money) due to fitness, implying that he was in their plans. Then they didn't select him for the World T20, and he wasn't in their list of players being handed central contracts. He gave an interview complaining about it. Later, when Symonds was sent home from the World T20, his contracted was terminated and Tait added to the list.
