...everyone who didn't moan about Verón or call for SAF's sacking, nor criticised his tactics, nor said that we were shit and could get relegated, nor slated the Nevilles, nor thought that they had a better knowledge of football than SAF, etc. (this could go on forever) Please put a smiley of either :D or in this thread.

Those who do not apply to the description above please feck off, and scouse cnuts also.

what is a forum for, may I ask? There are some who are in this forum just to slack off some of our players (which is unhealthy) and there are some who are in to air their views. For those who are giving their honest assesment to the player's performance during previous games/if the team loses because of the player's attitude and brought it up for discussion, does it mean that they are calling for SAF's head and makes them less of a supporter? Being a supporter doesn't mean that even if a player plays badly in a game, in your eyes, they deserve a 10 out of 10. We have to look at how they play and as fellow supporters, talked about it. Maybe that's what a forum is for. Yes, I must add that they still deserve our support and I will wholeheartedly give it to them. The nevilles do play badly sometimes and they deserve "special mention." To their credit though, they were excellent in their last 2 games - Gary in the Pool game and Phil against Arsenal. Let's just hope that they play in that fashion going forward. You have made it difficult for supporters/members in this forum to come out and have an honest discussion on the player's performance after a game cos' if a player plays badly and we are to mention that, it'll be considered a sin. I have slated the nevilles before and that doesn't make me less of a Manchester United supporter. Being loyal to the team is one, turning a blind eye to a player's rubbish performance is another. It was an excellent team performance yesterday and I really do not want to dampen anybody's mood here. Rejoice! Perhaps a shift in power, Wenger? :)

you have a point there, but i think what Weaste and many of these smiley fans are saying is that they had faith in the players, the manager, and ultimately the team.

those of whom spent most of the time in here complaining about things do not deserve to be in this thread as Weaste said. Because they lack the faith in the team.

i'm not saying i have always had complete faith as i have had my fair share of complaints about the tactics - and that is why i didn't put my smiley face in here.

but i do understand his point - and so should you.

You can point players' mistakes, make comments about rubbish performances. but when you call for their heads, that's rubbish, because they have potential to play well. those who couldn't see it should really 'feck off' as Weaste said.

every topics had its purpose..
just like this one..

I think I deserved these too..
:D

Forgive me WeasteDevil, I have sinned....

I said that if SAF couldn't inspire better than that half arsed performance we saw against City, then he'd be on his way by February.

:D

I have said for ages that the midfield plays sometimes as if Keane is the only one with a licence to tackle, and that is costing us games.

:D

As for Veron and Phil Neville, lets just say the club got it's moneysworth yesterday. But I'm not going overboard.

How well said, RUnited. We are not here a community that is calling for heads to roll... Being over critical is beside the point completely. We need to understand that Manchester United is a team composed of HUMAN players who are faillible. That does not in any way reduce their ability or the heart with which they play...

I have not been writing much in the Forums. I am a fairly new member. But, you guys will get to know slowly that I never ever criticized Mikael Silvestre or Laurent Blanc or Juan Sebastian Veron. I believe in encouraging a player. In bringing the best out of him, especially when he shows desire and passion for the game. Nothing substitutes for that. Veron may have had his heart out of Old Trafford a long time during his Old Trafford career. But, SAF has never ever questioned his commitment and stood by him. Who else than SAF would has been able to 'tame' our favourite Maverick, the catalyst of our decade long domination? Who else would have thrown the Beckhams and Scholes and Butts and Nevilles on when we cleaned our team up? SAF may lack the tactical knowhow. Notwithstanding, He is the best manager. He knows how to get the best of his players. He has proven it. And we ought to stand by his wisdom and trust him. We cannot be 'fickle'. That is not a true fan's spirit.

thank you. very well said yourself, you deserve a smiley yourself then!

Half of you who posted smilies also wanted to sell Barthez after his Deportivo cockups.

Criticism is certainly welcome. It cannot, however be judgemental. One cannot, while criticizing forget the good that a player stands for. The bad is too easily used to veil everything a player does to build his reputation. And as well, solutions have to be deliberated and thought out logically, intellectually, based on instincts too even.

It is so great of Weaste to have started this post. Do let's, all of us United fans, UNITE behind our team. Constructively.

didn't seem to help Liverpool that they sold both James and Westerveld - i personally admire SAF for having stuck with Barthez and Brown too for that matter..

:D for me. for me too.

I think what Weaste is saying that some of you haven't shown the faith in a team required by a supporter. Sure you can criticise and point out mistakes, but players like Forlan, Veron and the Nevilles have shown all the heart and commitment in the world. Now that they have stood up to be counted, some of you out there might consider admitting that you were wrong.

This is a forum after all. You only get abuse if you turn out to be wrong.

So where do I fit in?

I've not slagged off the players. I've said I doubted Veron's abilities in the PL, but have never said we should sell him.

I thought Forlan might be best suited to midfield, but have always said he is a useful player.

Never slagged off the Nevilles.

Never slagged off Barthez.

Criticised the midfield as a unit.

Wondered about Fergie's tactics - but I've spent some 10 years or more doing that. :)

This has got to be constructive criticism. Valid points all the way. I would sure allow you a :D and a
