Though it'll be interesting to see what happens to the show if they try to take it away from Adult Swim. They can be real pieces of shit to the creators of its content.
The guy who created Metalocalypse had his show canned by AS, and they won't even allow him to create or perform music under the name of the band in the show, which he was doing whilst the show was still in production. It's mad that someone else can completely own something you created and tell you that you can't use it anymore. "We don't want it, but you can't take it elsewhere".

Probably just trying to kick up a reaction to get it renewed. No way does a show this popular vanish.
I gave this up towards the start of season 3. Some of it was pretty good early on but I always found it hit and miss. The majority of the show has always felt like what would have happened if Family Guy had spawned Futurama rather than The Simpsons. Too many pretend-smartisms and a lot of dreary lowest common denominator stuff. I love silly slapstick homour but here the slapstick isn't creative enough and the silly often felt unimaginative.
I never hated it but it felt increasingly like I was having my time wasted. It's rare that I get bored in a 20 minute cartoon.

7 seasons is a lot but Rick and Morty has a huge following so there will be a lot of viewers and hype.

It's a successful American comedy show, of course they're gonna run it into the ground.
Unless they've been given 15 episodes per season, which means there would be only 4-5 more seasons.
This show is absolutely brilliant. Archer and Bojack Horseman have long been my favourites when it comes to animated series but this one is probably ahead of both in terms of creativity and humour. Whoever writes this stuff is a genius. Highly recommended to those who are yet to check it out.
Dan Harmon is the main guy behind it. He also did Community which was very good and has a podcast of extremely variable quality.
There is a Rick & Morty pop up bar in Edinburgh currently. There is a drink called Existence is pain which is Mr Meeseeks. Also a pickle rick themed shot.

If I’m not wrong, Adult Swim has ordered 70 more episodes of Rick And Morty. Maybe they just want to keep the show going on for long as possible. Although it is a bit disappointing to see that this season will have just 5 episodes, I wouldn’t mind if it’s top quality. I felt season 3 was not as good as the first two seasons, so here’s hoping that season 4 can deliver
Was gonna watch this a few years ago but was put off when the apparent obnoxiousness of (some of) its fans meant it became associated with incel/gamergate/alt-right creeps in my mind.
