Television Rick & Morty

I just started watching the first season of this. It's good shit. The simulation episode.

What a brilliant intro  Great episode once again! "Sea cucumber! SEA CUCUMBER!" “Is this a sex dungeon? I should have been paying more attention.”

This threat contains too many laughing smileys so I decided to watch it. Currently on episode 5. Hasn't been too good so far.

Not for you then. Might as well stop now.

Hmm. 5th episode was a lot better. I'll definitely keep watching. How is it compared to Family Guy which is my favourite animated sitcom?

Must resist.

It's a lot better imo. Most of the humour comes from Rick literally not giving a shit (and how he plays off the rest of the family who are pretty straight bar Morty to an extent) and some of the f*cked up stuff they end up having to do. It's a lot darker and smarter than Family Guy.

The redhead Morty was going out with at the end of the episode was actually quite attractive. I didn't think the animators could pull something like that off, given the art style of the show.

Family Guy? Feck me.
That wasn't very well recieved

Anyway cheers. I'm a big fan the mentioned humour which has started to appear more frequently

I'm surprised it took you 5 episodes to notice it or to get sucked in, the tone is set very quickly imo and there are some awesome episodes very early on in the show (Anatomy Park, Shaym Aliens...).

Literally the first episode he bursts in and drunkenly drags Morty out of bed  the tone is set from the first scene.

Obviously I noticed it but I didn't really enjoy the first episodes that much for some reason. I think it got a lot better with M Night-Shaym Aliens and especially Meeseeks and Destroy

Meeseeks hooks everybody. Anatomy Park is a good episode but it's still pretty standard as far as storytelling goes (R&M likes to prey on clichés). You're not wrong that it gets better from episode 5 onwards and I'm fairly sure you'll catch the R&M bug after episode 6.

Just me, then.

After the credits rolled on Sunday’s Rick and Morty a memorial ran just after the credits poking fun at the hurried writing on GoT :

Dan Harmon's comments afterwards -
“I keep thinking I should say something but I keep waiting for the time I’d need to write something worth saying because rule number one in talking shit is you better talk way better than the shit you’re talking about but then I remember the truly frustrating thing about that card is that it breaks that rule, being a lazy, craftless jab at the WRITING on my favorite show that some pointlessly jaded teenage intern in Atlanta just left like a fart in my show’s space so why wait for the muse to strike before disavowing them”

“Hey man, wasn’t me, I just work on Rick And Morty and love the Thrones, sorry if that anonymous unearned snark bummed you out but I’m the one that has to spend the next TV Guide Showrunner’s Dinner checking his vodka for Essence of Nightshade”

The kids killing that person in toxic land, then coming back normal and crying
I seriously dont think id be able to even come up with half of the stuff they do. Insanely awesome.

Does anyone else feel like they won't comfort-watch this season as much as the previous ones when it's all over? I can put on basically any episode from season 1 and 2 when I'm just making food or concentrating on nothing in particular, but only two episodes have made me feel that way this season (episode 1 and episode 6). I still think it's a great show but something's just missing from it this year and I can't quite put my finger on it.

Maybe it's the lack of leaked timelines.
