Delighted that no-one picked him yet

I very nearly picked him, I decided to go for a more offensive full back seeing as so many creative midfielders and wingers have gone.

Jocelyn Angloma:)
Quick, strong, defensively astute and an attacking asset as well
After an outstanding tournament at Euro 92, he won the Champions League with Marseille, beating Milan in the final. He is associated most closely with Valencia, playing 5 seasons for them and reaching two consecutive Champions League finals at the turn of the millennium.

I pick Graeme Le Saux

Scorer of one the best goals you'll ever see for England

Think I've got a pretty strong idea of how I'm setting up now.

Code:
                    Kopke

          *** Desailly Blind

*** ***
                  Rijkaard
        Stojkovic
                               Savicevic

               Vialli Hughes

Just need a bit of pace out wide and I'm looking alright.

That is a very good side, I am surprised Danny Blind didn't go before now.

Team Brian GB has updated for all of us lazy feckers

It is IBleedRed's turn now

How are you liking your team Polaroid? I must say your midfield is very impressive looking.

I am happy with it so far:)although I wish I have Baresi alongside Walker:D
I was very fortunate to get the midfielders i wanted, I was not optimistic about getting them in my turn, in particular Effenberg. Mauro Silva was a gamble, I was praying nobody picked him while I picked Haessler first:nervous:

Your back 5 is looking very solid, it would not be easy to breach

You did get lucky, seeing as I had typed out Effenberg's name and was ready to post it directly before your pick! I decided on Klinsmann instead which I think was a wise choice.

Those who have focused on one position have got very strong teams - the likes of you focusing on your midfield and I on my defence - to get three central defenders who between them have fifty years experience, amassing 2000 appearances for AC Milan and Real Madrid was a coup. On top of that getting Le Saux and Di Livio I managed to obtain two of the best wing backs of the mid to late nineties.

I initially thought that you will be playing a back four as Tassotti is primarily a rightback, although he could fill in at the centre. Di Livio's versatility does give you the option of 5-3-2 or 4-4-2. It might be easier to find another centre midfielder than a wide one so your choice of 5-3-2 could well be the wisest.

OK in the last 10 picks, 9 of my players have gone.

I will pick when I am back home in a couple of hours

Couldn't he go 532 with Tassotti as a wingback (as he was for Italy in '94) and play Di Livio as a shuttler-type midfielder in the middle, in a similar role to Gattuso maybe? 442 looks the best bet though really, with almost every one of those players most comfortable in that formation.

From what I recall, Italy was playing a flat back four at USA 94, nevertheless Tassotti would not be suitable as a wingback imo. If Brian wants to go 4-4-2, he would need another wide midfielder/winger which is not going to be easy to find good ones at this stage of the draw.

I'm 100% sure Italy played a flat back 4 in 1994. Baresi was injured for most of the tournament and Maldini filled in at CB.

Anyway, I've no idea what formation to play...

I initially went for 442 at the time of picking Tassotti though I then determined I wouldn't have enough creativity in my side and the best option was to get in two offensively minded full backs, hence Di Livio and Le Saux.

My intention is to go 532/352, with Di Livio at right wing-back and with Tassotti just inside who can go outside and give Di Livio licence to bomb on. I deliberately went for players with versatility so I can tinker around with it, having a right back who plays centre back and two centre backs who are sweepers gives me that - 4132 might be an option for instance with either Di Livio sitting in from of the defence or one of Sanchis or Baresi floating around mopping up.

Sacchi chopped and changed like a crazy person but the only game Tassotti started in was v Spain and I had it in my head he was playing as a wingback.

To avoid duplication find a page in the thread which has the most recent list of who has picked who and do a search (ctrl + f) for the player's name

So, do we give Dan time to correct himself or just press ahead?

It is almost 15 hours since my 8th round pick, counting on the basis of 6 hours for IBleedRed to make his 8th round pick, 6 hours for Dan to make his 8th and 9th round picks, the time allowance for IBleedRed to make his 9th round pick started almost 3 hours ago.

Luis Enrique remembers it well:

Although Tassotti played on the right side of a back four that day.
