Rest In Peace, Denis Law

Very sad to see The King go but none of us are invincible.

My childhood introduction to United and absolute all-time hero.

Farewell Denis. :(

Giving an insight into Law's sense of humour, McClair, who previously played for Motherwell and Celtic, said: “Denis said to me ‘Don’t score hat-tricks because they’ll expect that every game. Just score two’.”

RIP King.

Quite a lot of Madrid fans are outside the Cathedral to pay their respects before tonight’s match - very classy of them.

Wonderful tribute for a wonderful footballer

RIP Denis

How very sad. God bless his soul.

I'm glad he got a good send off. Of all the United players who have passed on during the past years, Best, Bobby, Dunne, Brennan, Nobby, I think the loss of Denis Law hurts the most. Don't know why. RIP Denis.

Because he was such a charismatisch figure an also a great great footballer

The end of an era. My all time favourite player. They say that you shouldn't meet your heroes, but I met him a few times and he was a great fella, as well as a great player. For me, he epitomised everything that a Manchester United player should be. RIP Denis Law, The King.

I miss those days. It was great being a kid in the 60s. Doing a paper round, morning and evening, in all weathers to get the money to watch United. It was worth all the colds, skinned knees and elbows, dog bites, punctures, and snowballs on the back of my head just to be part of all that.

I suppose it's somewhat fitting that united will finally part ways with old Trafford a little after the death of the final member of the holy trinity, symbolic of the end of an era and hopefully beginning of another one equally or even more so successful.
