Reserves v Sunderland

these Norwegians are flourishing under 2Olegend:lol:

am i the only one beginning to just a little concerned by Macheda's form

I don't think he has been to bad tonight. Won most of the balls we lobbed forward, has been pretty direct and offering an option.

He's still the best finisher of any of the young strikers. As someone said he's just trying a bit hard.

Hes involved in the games an awful lot more this year which will obviously help his all round game, last year he was invisible in a lot of games but would pop up with a goal which he will still do if he gets a chance

Very true, tonight he seems busy. The only negative I'd have is his final ball or lack of at times. With him overunning it a little too much.

I shall bow to your better judgement and hope he achieves something. It's just that King is looking like a real player in the making.

I agree. You get the feeling he sees what Welbeck and King are capable of in terms of beating defenders and is trying to match that whereas his game looks more suited to laying it off quickly and trying to find space with his off the ball movement which is very good.

The prospect of King makes me giddy.

Damn Noggies, why don't we have talents like that here in Denmark.

What a first half! Solid performances all over the place, hopefully Cofie will get a few minutes.

I don't want to jinx it but this side is reminding me more and more of the early 90's youthies. The football they are playing is very refreshing. There's a willingness to pass in tight situations, keep control without panicking and also unafraid to use individual flair.

They must be enjoying working under Ole

My man-crush on King is starting to worry me. I'll be writing poetry about him the way its going.

Macheda and fabio getting a rest as they are on the bench at the weekend perhaps

2nd goal for King outrunning the defender after a ball over the top by Norwood

The future's bright, the future's red.

We might not need to spend so much money on signings in the near future because there is some serious talent right at home. Very impressive performance.

Sunderland weren't great and to be honest there was a few good plus points but king was outstanding. So much so I can't be bothered with the other plus points.

We lost a great in Ronaldo, but the future...

Just the confidence, the desire, the pace, the coolness, the imagination..feck me. Brilliant tonight and whenever i've seen him to be honest.

I hope he keeps his head down and keeps working hard. If he does and steers clear of injury, he will be a real special player.

"I don't have MUTV, I'll watch it on the internet"

lol @ the tosic corner
king is fast

sidenote : do our reserves always play like this .. or is this current bunch special

i keep getting excited when i watch the reserves .. there is so much potential
i know a lot of them might not make it here.. please tell me these are better than we have had in the recent past

People think we're nuts if we overhype something but it's a special group I feel and one that let's not forget changes very often

Does my head in that they keep playing 'the shock of the lightning' whenever they cut to a commercial. There's something very wrong about Oasis being played on MUTV, especially such a mediocre song.

Awesome display by the Reserves, a few individual performances were breathtaking - inparticular the scorers Eikrem and King who took their goals supremely well and generally were brimming with confidence. What was really impressive was the passing of the side, seemed like they all were on the same wavelength and it all came together with great interchanging and all the players had an eye for a pass - topped off by players with the imagination of Norwood and Eikrem.

Joshua King was frighteningly good, pace to burn but not just that. His acceleration over a few yards was very encouraging because at times that's all that really matters for a striker - if you can just beat or out-pace a defender over a short distance. In truth though, what I think could be the making of the player is his control and the quickness of his touches, Frazier Campbell had a lot of the same attributes as King but nowhere near the same level of technique. King not only has the physical attributes (pace, strength and height) but he also has developed a excellent awareness - both of which will only get better in time.
