hey good call, chadwick is great.

I thought Chadwick was back in training months ago? He played against Ipswich last season... did he get another knock during the summer?

Chadders is starting tonight...

Line-up: Steele, Roche, Tate, May, Hilton, Djordjic, Lynch, Pugh, Chadwick, Nardiello, Williams
Subs: Muirhead, Heaton, Rankin, Fletcher, Bardsley.

Get in there Luke! Good strong challenge within the first 20 seconds. <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

David May just did a Blanc and ducked out of heading the ball, a bit dangerous and not what we want Blanc teaching our defenders.

All United possession in the first few minutes, they're just sitting back. Good passing. Pugh's cross in, a bit too long.

Luke does a weaving run through the defense then a lovely ball through it with the outside of his foot, Matty Williams hits that straight at the keeper. Good to see Chadwick back again.

Kirk Hilton, number 3 and left back who's apparently had quite a number of injuries, hs put in some good tackles. Chadwick attacks on the break, but Nardiello loses the ball.

Can't understand why WBA are even afraid of our reserves, Kirk Hilton cross to Luke, but the defender leaps up to head it clear.

Fletcher creates a move by hitting a lovely reverse ball down the left, gets it back in the area, but doesn't really know what to do, sends in a low cross which is headed out.

We're defending now as WBA get their first bit of sustained possesion in the game. Djordic forced to concede a corner. The corner is long and goes out of play.

Kirk Hilton's having a great game at the moment, linking up well with Pugh, and getting plenty of balls in.

Luke bursts into the box from a through ball, gets muscled off the ball by the defender.

David May at the far post from a cross volleys the ball into row Z.

Chadders tried to feed the ball through the defense a couple of times after another run, but they've packed the defense.

Our midfield is undoubtedly very good indeed, and the defence has been surprisingly pleasing, especially Kirk Hilton so far. But the strikers have been disappointing in this first half hour.

Errr mate, SAF is first team coach. ;)
McClair last season was reserve team coach, but Carlos is this year.

Tate made a good interception and then a great charging run up the pitch to receive the ball.

McClair is actually in the dug out, though he's definitely not the coach - suppose it could be as a handover, though all the coaches are present.

Just how good is Tate ? People at Manchester United have ear-marked him as someone who could make an impact someday, but I havent heard a lot about him, just that hes a CB.

I thought he was Fergusons assistant ? Or is he doing both ? He certainly looked like he was doing the Kidd / McClaren role on Saturday.

He's done well so far in this game, made good interceptions, some good passes and likes to play the ball. He still looks inexperienced though. I'll keep an eye on him for you.

From what I remember, he does both. If you'd care to check on ManUtd.com for me, I'd appreciate it.

Looks like it'll be 0-0 at HT, we should have scored by now, but the final ball has been too near the defenders, though they have defended well and in numbers. The strikers really must have better movement though, they may as well not be there quite frankly for all they've done.

Chadwick's had a great half, better than Giggzy last weekend for sure. I'd still like to see him be stronger and then use that strength. And he's not fit enough yet which is understandable, though he has been doing a lot of running, and is still very pacy.

HT 0-0

Totally on top, amazing amount of possesion, particularly eye-catching performances from Kirk Hilton, Djordic, Chadwick and Tate. We've been particularly strong down the wings, with good linkup play and overlaps on both sides. Djordic and Fletcher have dominated the centre, and fizzed balls here and there, hitting the front man particularly well, only for them to do nothing with it. Williams and Nardiello have been awol, despite the great midfield play and possession. It can be like that with strikers sometimes, certainly seen Yorke be like that, but you can see why we're more likely to buy in a 4th striker than promote from youth (unless its Webber who's on loan, or Gomez next year).

Thanks for keeping an eye on Tate for me Neil, and here under our very noses it says Carlos is indeed assistant manager, but doesnt say anything about youth team... Ill have a look on manutd.com

Anyway, whatever, as long as we win the league he can be referred to as chief boot polisher for all I care!

;)
