Reddit ITKs

At least we know for sure now that /u/xisimon is legit.

He obviously knows someone who either works in marketing or web design or something. Which means he'll get announcements right, but everything else he says is likely pish.

Well that of course is not true. Do you think Manchester United contact their marketing department only after they have announced a signing?

Well they obviously don't inform the lower level employees about our summer transfer window plans and I doubt any higher up would let a muppet share that information on reddit.

Probably somebody in the web or app departments. They have to know in advance who they're writing articles about / uploading videos etc.

It was a very small window for him to post that, so he's been given a quick heads up.

We've announced James because there's another on the way. We want James to get his due exposure and let it die down before we announce the next one.

Simon is basically the anti-Spoofex. He rarely posts. When he does it's just about a couple of things. He's posts things that make sense and he sticks to them. When he says something will happen it happens.

Spoofex posts all the time. Pretends to know every detail, conversation and thought of everyone involved in our transfers. Comes up with narratives that make no sense and constantly change. Often says things will happen and they don't and never seems to know anything that actually happens until after others have said it will.

Yep.

Just look at that table of players he's giving opinions at. Nobody would know that much concrete information about players unless they're at Woodward/board level.

He's just taking wild stabs in the dark and giving vague information - a genuine conman. Crazy how they're letting him get away with it.

Simon has always been legit. He's the only one with a credible, reliable history of calling things ahead of time, even if they are fairly basic things that are on the verge of happening in minutes/hours, rather than days.

Anyone who claims to have knowledge of every single in/out, with daily updates on every single little thing happening, is a guaranteed bullshitter.

Didn't he say we were getting De Ligt?

So what else has Simon said?

He hasn't said much so far. He wrote this 4 weeks ago:

Summer 2019 - Update 1: Lingard on thin ice.
Sanchez hard to shift because of his wages.
Big summer upcoming. Mostly signings with potential, with a few senior heads.
Next season is a transition season.
Daniel James. Close.
Koulibaly. Making progress.

A marketing team would have to construct a marketing campaign. All of the graphics, slogans, videos of piano playing in Old Trafford etc all have to be conceived, filmed, edited and uploaded by the time of the official announcement. I would suspect the construction and completion of a campaign for a signing like Pogba or Sanchez could theoretically take a couple of weeks at least. They would obviously need to have a deadline to finish the campaign too, as it would need to be ready for signing - so someone in marketing could theoretically project a potential completion date for a deal, as they would have been given a deadline to complete their own work.

Who knows. It is perfectly reasonable for ‘low level’ employees who could be working on design for a campaign to know what player it is for. It is also likely they have confidentiality agreements and are expected to shut the feck up.

Come on, he told us half an hour before.

His source could literally be a ball-boy in for pre-season training.

That said, I think he genuinely does know somebody and gets some accurate info, unlike the other bampots.

Didn't he say we were getting De Ligt?

He said that De Ligt was a 'possibility' and that we were trying for him but that was all. When all the other ITKs on reddit were insisting De Ligt was a done deal or we had agreed things with the player/Ajax he said they were lying and misleading people. This resulted in him getting a ton of abuse and he quit their forum in a bit of a flounce. Although he has posted a few times on their since.

He also said something about right wing not being seen as a priority which I really hope he is wrong about.

Did he not say we definitely weren’t in for him, or certainly nowhere near close to signing him, then got chased off Reddit?
I believe he just accused that Fred lad of being a liar when talking about De Ligt, insinuating either of what you said.

I doubt it would take weeks to make something like that piano playing video. Probably a day to shoot, and another 2-3 for editing.

And 0 days to decide and plan to do it in the first place?

There would have been ideas that were considered and scrapped, ideas that were pitched and rejected, hashtag brainstorming etc. To do the actual shoot and edit isn’t that hard, but to decide Make a creative advert doesn’t take 2 days from inception. I know a bit about the advertising sector and this is effectively one of those.

I don't think everything is so secret for those who work at the club. I know someone who worked in the megastore. He saw the jerseys of "Ibrahimovic 10" in their warehouse long before it was published.

The security guards know by several days in advance if they are going to work because a new player is presented, etc.

But of course, Spoofex is a liar.
