I genuinely can't see why people prefer The Office US over UK. I tried to get into the US one (because UK is one of my all time favs) but just couldn't do it. A few moments aside, it was just not funny.

Just look at how both shows handled the fire drill...

Havent seen the other shows so:

Group 7
Game of Thrones

Group 8
Friends

Group 7:
Game of Thrones (let's just disregard that ending)
The Office (US)
The Office (UK)
I'm Alan Partridge

Group 8:
It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Black Mirror
Friends
Death Note

I’m still pissed because of Frasier.

Group 7:
Game of Thrones

Group 8:
Friends
It’s always Sunny in Philadelphia

Group 7:
1. The Office (UK)
2. The Office (US)
3. Game Of Thrones

Group 8:
1. Father Ted
2. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
3. Black Mirror
4. Friends

Death Note gone from first to fourth behind trash like Black Mirror and Sunny, predictable with this lot.
Yeah I was pretty excited to see it get a fast start then slowly it kept going down the list. Same happened with Only Fools & Horses.

Judging by the votes there's about 30 comic book guys here

Death Note being the only one actually from a Manga:wenger:

And I rate death note. But calling Sunny trash is blasphemous.

Group 7:

2. Game Of Thrones
3. The Office (US)

Group 8:
1. Sunny
2.Black Mirror

From what I remember CBG was always about American comics and sci-fi, Xena the warrior princess, Marvel/DC and all that crap. If there's one thing super obvious in these polls it's that the forum is very americanised.

The entire global entertainment industry is Americanized. I wouldn't say this forum sticks particularly out compared to the West in general.

Tell me you are western european without telling me you are western european

I'm not sure this entirely works when the next sentence was me telling you I'm western European.

Found these quite hard. Think theres very little between them. Office US grew on me over the seasons. I should try get into justified again, never made it past an episode or two.

Group 7:
I'm Alan Partridge
The Office (UK)
The Office (US)

Game of Thrones (everything past season 4 was really mediocre and last 2 seasons were terrible)

Group 8:
Father Ted
Black Mirror
Death Note
It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia (bit harsh but hey ho)

Friends (-5 pls)

You wont find many other voters here cultured enough to give garbage GoT 1 point and Death Note 5.

Except the next poster
Its in a list with Father Ted. It has no business getting 5 points. I would have put Cowboy Bebop above Black Mirror but feck Death Note

I haven’t seen Death Note, but that’s one helluva opinion.

Agreed. I fecking hated the US Office.

The weird thing about Black Mirror being in this list, is it’s not really a TV show. It’s more a series of non-related short films. The episodes were not made with any of the traditional season arcs, multi season arcs, character development, etc. And what other TV show has 3 episodes in an entire season, What TV show can get A-list actors in for one “episode”?

And the budgets!

They are a series of good to brilliant movies under one banner.

GOT is the ultimate hipster thing to hate on, because it's so big.
Well that and the dumpster fire last season.
I quite liked GOT but upon reflection, it's mainly a show of moments. It's basically the Man United of TV shows.

I don't really follow this. GoT had a lot of intricate plotlines and great character development (at least as far as it followed the books then this all broke down in the final season). The moments are only memorable because of the plot build up and character development. If that's a show of moments I think you could say the same thing about every show on these lists.

The bolded is probably true. I've only seen it the one time and honestly, I just remember certain scenes whereas something like Breaking Bad or The Wire, I remember in great detail.

It always had epic cinematic moments, but initially they were just one part of the show. The big set pieces were well earned.

Once they overtook the books it flipped. They had ideas for the big set pieces where they could flex, and the writing seemed to focus on getting them to that point.

I disagree with that. The first 4 season were amazing television with great character development and archs. It slowly (and then rapidly) turned to shite at some point, but the first few years were amazing TV in my opinion.

Exactly. The first 4 seasons were SAF United then the rest was current United.
