Music RedCafe's Favourite Albums Of All Time Contest (Round 6)

This is the list of a man who is not afraid to show his sensitive side, and, if necessary, cry. You're all right in my book, hellhunter, I don't care what @Dirty Schwein says about you.

The only Alkaline Trio record I keep coming back to is From Here To Infirmary, what do you think of that one?
Another good one! I like most of their stuff, very few poor songs. This Addiction as a whole is cool, but One Last Dance is probably my favourite song from them

1. Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool
2. Arcade Fire - Reflektor
3. Angel Olsen - My Woman
4. Julia Holter - Have you in my Wilderness
5. Mitski - Be the Cowboy

Honorable mention:
Antony and the Johnsons Swanlights
Tim Hecker Ravedeath 1972
Parquet Courts Wide Awake!!!
Kate Bush 50 Words for Snow
Perfume Genius No Shape
Vampire Weekend Modern Vampires of the city
Jon Hopkins Singularity
Arcade Fire The Suburbs
Max Richter Sleep
Current 93 The Light is Leaving Us All
I like Tim Hecker, but not sure i could name a best album of his. Most of them are good, but, different.
But Ravedeath was the first i heard from him so a bit special it is.

Totally agree, and same here. I guess "An Imaginary Country" or "Love Streams" would be my main alternatives.

Love how he turns noise into harmony.

Concerning lack of love for Wanda from the German speakers here
They are boring. Really, really boring.

Kraftwerk was the band to rally around and you all failed us.

Just give the rest to Taylor Swift. She deserves it.

Arctic Monkeys vs Taylor Swift. Uh,. But definitely can't vote for Kendrick Lamar. 2010s hip hop is so bad compared to 90s hip hop for me I can't vote for 2010s hip hop.

Hard to tell which is the album title and which the artist. Reading your list, I was shocked that Magma put out an album after 2010, as their debut was 1970… then realized the band must be Gojira. Wikipedia says they put out a record in 2022! Holy shit.

Have you heard Magma? They invented their own language and their own genre. French proggy space rock. You should check out Mekanïk Destruktïẁ Kommandöh.

I suppose that applies to everyone, although I think the album/artist division is pretty clear for my #4 and #5.:) I'll add it though.

Yep, I know Magma! I even saw them live once, in 2010 - although somehow I can only remember going to the concert hall, I can't remember anything from the actual show. (No, I wasn't on anything! ) I don't find everything do equally interesting, but you can't argue with the genius of something like Mëkanik Zaïn.

That is a great album! Pity nothing else she's put out is anywhere close to it.

I'm quite excited by the next round. I think my choices are quite good. Shame it's only 3 and not 5 albums.

1. Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
2. Queens of the Stone Age - Like Clockwork
3. Mogwai - Every Country's Sun
4. Run the Jewels - Run the Jewels 2
5. Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp A Butterfly

Very hard to nail that one down. Tons of great albums in that era, too.

Actually nah, I thought about it and resurrection round has 7 going through, giving opportunity for 1 per round, which seems fair.

I'll leave it as is.
