Redcafe Top 100 Movies: this time we're going to pull it off, honestly

I only have one movie to name so please give 15 points to The Room (2003) @R.N7

Thanks @LuisNaniencia. I couldn't give a flying feck what some joker thinks. I like how he's included the directors to make his list seem more credible. Probably got that list from IMDB anyway.

Its why I asked near the start of the thread whether it's films we personally love or films we consider to be great and people were questioning whether there's a difference.

Home Alone will be high on my list as it's the first non animated film I saw in the cinema but people will look at that and think I just love watching Joe Pesci slip on micro machines.

Ah yes, I remember the first. No one could be arsed and it ended up with 4 or 5 Scorsese films in top 10. Still better than the next top 100 list though.

I seriously cant believe @Revan would take the piss out of someone's film tastes and then post a list with Matrix and 2 LotR films in the top 3.

Yep. @Revan included a load of brilliant films and then consciously placed The Matrix and two Star Wars films ahead of them. That's almost deliberately insulting.

*shakes head sadly*

On what basis would you consider a film to be great unless you personally loved it? My movie choices were based on reasons similar to yours. When I watched Starship Troopers at the cinema, I was blown away as I hadn't seen a film like that before. The way the bugs were done was just way ahead of it's time and still stands up today. That's why it's in my list. But if you're just going to compile a list as to what is considered great, I could do that with my eyes closed or just go on IMDB.

Do what you have to do. We love different films for various reasons.

Who doesn't love that?

Me. I regarded Macaulay Culkin with contempt as a child.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze, however...

Think I only was only really old enough to be aware of him when Richie Rich came out. Stain on the back catalogue.

Deserved to be fecking kidnapped anyway!

4 A Christmas Carol (so many to pick so lets go with either 1951 or the George C. Scott one)

Did not think I would see this in any list , good man, I also like the one with Patrick Stewart, but the George C Scott one is the best

To be honest, I think I'll be the only person who has more than 10 Pixar movies in my top 100. And probably 20-30 animated movies in total.

Which do you think is the best? Wall-E or the first Toy Story IMO.

Definitely Wall-E, the first half is just immense.

I was never that big on WALL-E, even though it's objectively a very good movie. Love Toy Story though, absolute classic.
