In the latest episode of the United Hour Podcast, Nik (@Rood) and Imran (@Annihilate Now!) are here to discuss three 1-1 draws.
The first got us knocked out of the FA Cup, the next puts us in a good position in our Round of 16 Europa League game, and the latest was an actual decent performance against Arsenal at Old Trafford.
All hopes for the season now rest on the Europa League - does Amorim have the squad to win it?

Geez, this is awesome. probably the most insane thing I have read in a while.
The one about pressing is the dumbest thing I've seen in awhile. Our pressing has been exceptional the last couple months as well as the first half today.
I think many people still have the image of Pep's teams along with the likes of Bilbao pressing very aggressively even in our own third, and think that should be the norm for a possession based team, when in LVG's case he has instructed the players to start pressing more only from the middle of the pitch.
I (and most others) had 2 hopes/expectations for this season:
1. Top 4 and 2. An improvement in our performance and a recognisable style of play. We've got both. Our best games have been against the best teams and we have seriously improved since the start of the season. This has been a good season if you think back to where we were at the start of it. I think people need to relax a bit.
Agreed. I hate it when every poor performance is used as evidence the players don't care or 'lack passion'.
In fairness Blind has done little to convince he is the answer at the base of any formation all season. He has been brilliant at left back though. Hopefully we'll recruit in the summer and blind can fight shaw for left back. Hes winning that battle easily at the moment.
Yep that's all I've hoped for this season. Really I'm just happy that it's enjoyable again after the last season.
Still don't know how some people have the energy to give a shit about the game hours after its finishes.

We played some superb stuff in the last weeks and dominated the likes of liverpool away or city, while the players got lauded (eg Blind). after one bad game (chelsea was a top performance) everything is shit again - i dont know how some are even thinking about laughing at rawk. that said i even think that the first half wasnt that bad, as fellaini should have scored (or even better assisted mata, who could have passed the ball in an empty net) and we dominated possession. on another day we could have been 1-0 up at halftime or drawing. it wasnt a good performance in the second half though. now come on and secure top 4 - that would be a good end to a season where we made some big steps in the right direction. add some talent in the summer and we are challenging again imo.
I was hoping he'd come in to fix the Moyes mess last season, but I guess it's too late...

We still have every chance of it, all it takes is a slip up by City or Arse.
The issue with Arsenal is that they finish top 4 every year and accept it. If we get top 4 this year, all of us know that the club will invest and aim for a title next year. This phrase is often misused but we are definitely in the middle of a rebuild. It ends with us winning the title. Arsenal accept top 4 as the norm and their highest goal.
I reckon some United fans would be happy with 3rd/4th again next season. For me that isn't even remotely acceptable.

LVG has the side playing well and with the 3-4 additions over the summer we need we will be challenging on all fronts next season....both the champions league and EPL are in our grasp.
My opinion is we will win the league next year.

Perhaps you are right, but with how I see the team coming together and the targets mentioned, its hard not to see us winning it all. The same way chelsea targeted cesc, costa and luiz I think we have targeted Hummels, Clyne and Depay (and apparently Gundogan)....with those additions to our current side, I could not be more excited for the upcoming season....finally we are using our money to match our ambition....City better watch the feck out next time they visit OT.
I feel like we are weaker than Chelsea were last season, we have a lot of issues to address, they topped the league for a while and needed a little tweaking, we have superstars who aren't playing like superstars, a GK who is on his way out and players that have over performed and earned their place in the team somewhat, do we sell Fellaini,Mata and Young ? do we sell RVP? do we sign two strikers? what formation do we play? i don't think i can ever accept 4th place as a United fan, but with so many issues to address - we might still be rebuilding in December and end up 4th again - worst case scenario though.
Even if we are still rebuilding in December, we will be well on our way to achieving greatness....LVG will make sure of that.
Hummels, Clyne and Depay are exactly the types of players we should be targeting and it gives me great hope for next season....we should have no weaknesses in our squad. I havent even counted Gundogan (or even Pogba!)....we will be a force to be reckoned with next season....mark my words mate.
Depends on the summers acquisitions. we get the right transfers done and i can see us winning it. Otherwise second and hopefully a cup.

i dont think things are going too badly under LVG.
we've known for a while now that a couple of the players arent up to the level we require. And as good as rhe squad is its not a good how much an influence Carrick has on general play given his age

Yup proper meltdown that is tbf, worrying about a team that could be 1 point behind us on Saturday and then us having to play 2 matches in a row against teams who play with compact defences, the very defences we have struggled to break down all season.
Lets all act as if Liverpool is one point behind us already, that we're shite at home and we dont unlock those compact defenses and that all in all we're a completely shite team. And lets panic.
