Fans are fickle as feck. A demolition of Cambridge and Leicester and all of a sudden we are kings on a revolution that will sweep everyone away in 1 or 2 years. Then a poor result and we are shite, VG is a myth etc...

It's all positivity and smiles once the three points are in the bag. But the result shouldn't take anything away from the fact that the first half performance was abysmal, and we only really kicked into gear once we ditched LVG's beloved 3-5-2 formation.

The win doesnt change the fact that we look absolutely clueless when we play the 3-5-2.

The anti-LvG sentiment has peaked after a win, so not sure how that makes people fickle.

LvG has been extremely average thus far, certainly not the big beast we were promised.

Personally I blame the whole thing on the 5-3 at Leicester. Up until then I thought we were getting better, week by week, nicer to watch, turning into a team. Unfortunately I think after that game I think we threw the good football baby out with the bad result bathwater.

It's not that I don't think we can play well and get results, it's just that it looks like for the moment the panic reaction (not the cafe's, the management's) has made it hard to break the pattern.

Of course, we as fans react to that, it's not as if we actually know that there's something going on behind the scenes that means we know that our misgivings are unreasonable. We hope it, but we don't know.

He is only 5 months into the job taking over a club with huge expectations but a club that needs rebuilding. We are doing well to be in the top 4. Especially with a mad injury crisis.

Thank God for this thread! Some posters just go proper mental, sometimes I can't believe what I'm reading in some threads! The match day thread is the worst and avoid that like the plague, at times it's like I'm watching a different game to the posters on the match day thread. In general though apart from the sheer madness of some on here most are rational enough.

I've thrown one strop this year and I'll stand by it. No sense in hiding from my own shame.

Just scream these quotes on any actual football stadiums and chances are you'll be the most passionate fan ever.

Matchday threads are special and I feckin love it.

Leicester game was straight after our first win of the season. We proceeded to get better after that, continuing with the diamond. Things have really gone pear shaped since the Villa game. Every match since then has been horrible(I haven't seen the Newcastle game but I assume that was an exception).

hey! i was asking an honest question! i don't know about other england leagues
I'd say being fecking relegated was a little worse than drawing with a lower league team who they will trash in the replay. Your comment very much belongs in here.

Or even drawing with Exeter City 0-0 a few years ago? Comparable perhaps.

My thread was locked! That's pretty RAWKish!

Thought it was a strange lock myself, although not really comparable to RAWK, because there are still plenty of threads where people are slating the manager, the squad, and individual players.

But yeah . . . I maintained last season, in the midst of the Moyes Out hysteria - which culminated in some of our supporters flying *a fecking plane* over Old Trafford calling for Moyes to be sacked - that an awful lot of people had forfeited the right to ever laugh at RAWK/Liverpool supporters.

And that some of our supporters weren't much different, and that it was easy to be calm, level headed, patient and magnanimous when you're winning or just missing out on the league every season for 20 years.

A period in the wilderness might separate the wheat from the chaff though. ;)

That's a good point. It's certainly hysterical seeing some of the general hysteria over us being only the third best team in the premier league.

1. I'm really happy for welbz

2. I hate LVG

3. 90% of our team are utter shit and currently stealing a living at our club and shouldn't be anywhere near our team in the first place

4. Im happy though, the result doesn't matter because we had 58% possesion after all we all know possesion is priority sod the results and performance.

We're shit. No manager and no amount of money can't stop the inevitable. The gravy stopped flowing with SAF's retirement. Time to wait for our next era of greatness

this match proves while we can pass and run and win matches against most teams...with teams that get stuck in like Everton we need a ball winning midfielder.

We had our chances and if we had taken them would have been a different match. They would have had to come at us.

Looks like we are looking into getting players who will add that grit in midfield...MCarthy should be considered.

My only concern is Rooney....if he is not fit....we may drop out of the top 4.

Those are not that bad. And consider that they were made in match day thread, and that one's always one for exaggerating.
ah, there were others, but can't be arsed. I just think the thread is a good historical record of stuff that we can look back on and laugh when the times are good.

the drama queens on here....

not too many can analyse a game calmly though.

we will always lose the game here and there.. But I saw how much we have improved from the first half of the season and are miles better than under Moyes.

my only concern is Rooney...it looked bad.

we need to finish strong and we have every chance to do so.

Ref. De Gea.
Sooner he fecks off the better, it's becoming a soap opera now and it's starting to effect he's performances.

Thought this was pretty crazy to be honest.

People need to relax, we lost two difficult away games but we'll make top 4

My thoughts exactly. We've had losses against both these teams in a similar fashion before. What have these defeats told us? Our defenders aren't the best, we need an alternative to Carrick and we could do with a RB and winger. We knew all that already. This defeat showed us nothing knew. We'll get top 4, strengthen in the summer and the same fickle sods who are going crazy now will be predicting a treble.

Meh, obvious that Everton would be hellbent on placating their fans after a crappy season by trying their guts out against one of the truly big clubs. Expected result.

Agreed. Thing is, some people got too excited before the Chelsea match. This is the level of our team atm and we need signings in the summer to push up a level.

How has this thread only got 4 pages? There's been a lot of meltdowns this season, let alone today.
