Redcafe Future Stars

Not heard of Ante Coric or the Arsenal kids. Fair play for actually going for complete wild cards.

Seung Woo Lee
Amadou Diawara
Ronael Pierre Gabriel
Rafik Zehnini

That will be my 4 wildcards.
Cheating :p

I'll unsurprisingly go for my players:

Toni Lato
Javi Ontiveros
Christopher Nkunku
Odsonne Edouard
Emre Mor

Milot Raschica
Emanuel Mammana
Adrian Cubas
Giovani Los Celos
Ousmane Dembele
Paul Bernardoni
Matheus Pereira

He's class, I didn't think to mention him as it feels like he's already made it, he plays like he's been at the top level for 10 years.
He has and will continue having his ups and downs as every youngster. But his level and consistency until December have been stunning. He's another brilliant example that when it comes to transfers, age and name of a player, the club he comes from, the fee paid for him are totally irrelevant. All that matters are talent, work ethics and an environment in which the player can fit in.

It reminds me of this Daily Mail prediction from 2007 of the future England team:

england-2007.jpg

What a team!

Neck on the line:

Grato Dos Canto
Jack Barmby
Rondo Nakazi
Massachi Testo
Jordan Hansen
Christoff Isaacson
Didier Alegue
Marco Esperanta

I would chop my own cock off if at least a few of these didn't become world beaters.

This list

Genuinely haven't heard of any of these players apart from Barmby.

Convinced he has made up some of the names.

Neymar, Smalling - Raees
JDavid De Gea- phelans shorts
Juan Manuel Iturbe, James Rodríguez - Arruda
David De Gea Thomas Müller, Paul Pogba, Alexis Sanchez, Chris Smalling,Javier Hernandez,Manuel Neuer - Irish Legend
Toni Kroos (future best midfielder on planet) - Red Indian Chief Torn Rubber
Ozil to be next Zidane - Boss

Irish Legend wins, cant find his username so @RooneyLegend wins

Most, if not all, of those players were pretty established (for youngsters, anyway) back when this thread was started.

Exactly, it's like making a list now and putting players like Marquinhos or Laporte in it.

Aye, there's some good calls on the first couple of pages but those examples were pretty weird as any half knowledgeable football fan would have definitely heard of all of those and De Gea had already made his move to United for fairly big money, as had Neuer to Bayern

Viktor Kovalenko will be class.
Matias Kranevitter will be a solid player, although he's been bought by Atletico Madrid already so maybe shouldn't be named.
Gino Dekker is another talented Ajax academy player, don't think he's as good as Cerny or Nouri though.
Borja Mayoral is a good Spanish striker, don't see him making it at Real Madrid but could be just as good as Morata and have a similar career path.

Not including Sergi Samper, who's got minutes already, none of Barca B or their U19's will come close to being even squad players for them.

Huh?Carles Alena and Lee?
Oops, forgot about Alena and I thought they had to sell Lee? Wasn't he the cause of their ban?

Generally though, I've not been impressed with their youth players in the same way I was with Bojan, Deulofeu, Traore. I didn't particularly rate Grimaldo either, who was supposedly one of the best players from that bunch.

They were banned because of Lee and he wasn't allowed to play for Barcelona until January 1st 2016. He made his Barca B debut last weekend.

Grimaldo is still only 20 but I think the ship has sailed for him.Not much talent in their current B team.Kaptoum and the defensive duo Tarin-Quintilla maybe but I always find it hard to say about La Masia defenders. Some very good talents in their U19s side though. The likes of Lee,Alena and Mboula.

Personally it's what I've done, named some relatively established players currently which I believe will become long term successes.

Honestly, I don't watch enough football from everywhere or play Football Manager or whatever to know even 10% of some of the names being listed here. I don't have time to watch the UEFA Youth League (which I guess is a good way of finding out more about those players, fair fecks to those who do.

But let me play RedSky dammit.

I can smuggle you some names if you like?

Grimaldo was sold to Benfica even.

How do you get the time to watch so much football, serious question?

Huh?Carles Alena and Lee?

These two have the profile of future stars of the game, really loved Aleñá's debut with the 1st team against Celtic - when you see a Barcelona youth midfielder in action, you automatically identify they are a La Masia product and Carles has the look of a player with a big future

Same applies to Lee Seung Woo who is already scoring quite easily with the B team and will feature in the Youth Champions League this year although very different talents

Grimaldo was a big fail from the club, first big talent to be squandered in several years

Didn't think it had anything to do with age. I personally think Aaron Mooy will be a great player in the premier league if he gets the chance. He is already Australia's best player.

Looking back at this @IrishLegend knew his stuff

Dead Certs
David De Gea, Rafael Da Silva, Thomas Müller, Paul Pogba, Alexis Sanchez, Chris Smalling, Jack Wilshere, Javier Hernandez, Stefan Jovetic, Manuel Neuer

Solid Players
Marc Albrighton, Fabio Da Silva, Jonny Evans, Marek Hamsik, Eden Hazard, Javier Pastore

Flops/Won't reach potential
Jordan Henderson, Tom Huddlestone, Ravel Morrison, Joshua King, Mario Balotelli, Jack Rodwell

A couple of dodgy calls but mostly spot on.

Time for a new thread?

Yes with some actual proper rules. 20 years old or less, rules out players that are already established stars like Martial/Rashford. Make it an actual proper scouting "I told you so" thread (rather than just listing players who are already established stars).

So my Emre Mor prediction doesn't count now? :(

Thinking 20 years or less yes and not made any more than 50 first team appearances to rule out obvious ones like Martial and Sanches.

He's not played for Dortmund yet has he? I think thats fair game, he's not established.
Noone here knew about him in March i'll tell you that much. Apart from some danish of course.

50 would be almost 2 seasons. Perhaps 30?
There should be weight on certain leagues though, it's much easier to get 30 first team appearances in the Danish Premier League than the English Premier League for example. Maybe 30 for the top 5/6 leagues and 50 for the rest?

When you lot have decided on the rules, let me know if I can nominate Jonathan Leko (WBA).
