I don't want to spread rumours, but..

Ole,ny.jpg

I would orgasm if he became my manager. Don't think my guys doing bad enough to be replaced though...

Hes come out of retirement to lead my attack?

I'm pretty sure Foot FC are completely fecked, therefore I have very little interest in this now. D'oh :D

I wouldn't say that. With the way our clubs are set up, fortunes can change quickly. Sure, there's a certain "hierarchy" established even here, but a few seasons can see that turned around.

We'll see :D

 So to summarise, I have Owen and Ole up front.

Good stuff.

Now lets rewind the game time to 10 years ago.

Season 2 (10/11) - End of Season Update

These things are just getting bigger and bigger. I'll do only the Championship now (and transfer news). Premier League might come today, or it might come tomorrow (or the day after, even).

Club News
There were no more takeovers this season, but there were some stadium changes:

  • Licking - 8244 seats ready for 1.11.2011.
  • Paz United - 8197 seats ready for 9.11.2011.
  • GDH - 8193 seats ready for 11.11.2011.
  • Manchester Buccaneers - 8021 seats ready for 11.12.2011.

Managers

There were only a few manager changes in the second part of the season. In the Championship, only WL102 had a change, as van Hanegem was sacked and replaced with Dalkey's Krasimir Balakov. Dalkey replaced him with MK Dons manager Paul Ince. At Halcyon, Luciano Chiarugi only got 5 months on the job before he was sacked himself. For a couple of days he was replaced by Assistant Manager Jesus Calderon as caretaker manager, but before long Halcyon hired former FC Searl manager Hugo Sanchez.

Transfers

As with the manager situation, there weren't quite as many chances as there had been during the summer. There were still some big ones, though. After selling Rossi during the summer, Chili's finally decided to splash the cash on a replacement, bringing in David N'Gog for a healthy £23.5 million. The Gate also decided to spend some money, making the £18 million signing of Diego Buonanotte their most expensive signing ever. After spending heavily during the summer, FC Delhi wasn't quite finished, signing among others Banana Co's Marinho for £17.25 million, a player who had only the season before joined for £3.4 million. Other big transfers included WL102 signing Dutch wonder Georginio Wijnaldum for £11 million and Scottish international James McFadden for £9.5 million. There was also a big transfer out of RedCafe, with Victum selling Jesus Navas to Barcelona for £15 million. FC Searl, who had signed no one to replace their two stars in the summer, now signed 9 players, all for free. The average age of the batch of players that included Brian Mcbride and Rivaldo was 35 years.

The Premier League also saw less transfers than the summer window, but it also had a few high profile moves. The biggest was Paz United shoring up the defense with a £26 million Jonny Evans. Forest Heath had signed a lot of players in the summer, but all 5 January signings were more expensive than the most expensive summer signing, with the biggest being Chinedu Obasi for £25 million and Cesar Azpilicueta for £24.5 million. Other high profile, but less expensive, transfers included Tomas Rosicky and Richard Dunne to Longsight Athletic for 7 and 8 million.

Championship

There's no point delaying it: Foot FC came last. There were relative positives, though. For one, they no longer had the worst goal difference, they had the joint worst goal difference. Another positive was their record for the second part of the season, which read 2-2-10. Not fantastic, but compared to 0-0-18 for the first part, not so bad after all. Above them perhaps no surprise itself, FC Searl. They also slightly improved their form for the second part, and got two consecutive 3-2 wins, and later two consecutive 4-3 wins. And no more 0-10 losses. That's not to say they didn't concede a lot, which their 103 goals conceded should disprove. In 15th, Crack, and so far the table is the same as after the first part. Their highlight for the second part was definitely a magnificent 5-1 win over top RCC club The Wovers, in between a 1-4 loss and a 1-6 loss, with a 4-0 win before the 1-4 loss, and a 1-3 loss before that. Consistency?

Above them in 14th, and a far cry from last years Cup final, Victum hadn't been doing so well, the only highlight being a 3-0 win over Gotham. Also a far cry from last years cup final, WL102 found themselves in 13th, five spots down from the end of the first part of the season. They usually scored 2 or even 3 goals, but conceded much too many, only conceding less than the bottom two. Jubilee Hill sat in 12th, a long way from their bottom placing from last year. It seemed that Paul Sturrock, still Jubilee manager, was turning the ship around. Let's just hope he doesn't continue turning it around after doing the full 180. In 11th, right where we left them last time, Torpedo Ubergrad. And fans of the club could probably thank Fabio Quagliarella that it wasn't worse. Though quite a few players had scored goals, only Quagliarella scored more than 10. And he scored 29 (27 in the league).

Blackheath sat in 10th, after being in 5th at the turn of the year. Also they could probably thank their lead striker that it wasn't even worse, as last years £15.75 million signing Oscar Cardozo kept banging in the goals, finishing with 33 in the league. In 9th, Emirati FC, who had spent heavily this season. And the January signings evidently paid off, the club finishing the season with 5 wins and 4 draws in the last 9. Equal on points with them in 8th, Athletic Shorts, who had dealt much better with relegation than the other two. They had improved on their form from the first part of the season, so they could only hope to keep that going into the new season. In 7th, right where we left them, The Gate. Though Kaka had done reasonably well with 11 goals and 10 assists, the real star of the team was the striker, Villa. That is, £3.7 million signing Emanuel Villa, who had 24 goals in the league.

Ridgebacks was another team who had done better than their situation a few months ago, form that had seen them climb to 6th position, much better than their 12th finish last season. In 5th, right outside of playoff, Chili's had been in 4th just a couple of games before the end of the season. A 0-3 loss to The Gate set and end up a great run that saw them win 5 games in a row, conceding only a single goal. In 4th and 3rd, Gotham and Banana Co. They were equal on points, and had equal goal differences, Banana Co sitting 3rd only for their one more win. The playoff was a right affair, with Banana Co taking the lead. Unfortunately for them, Gotham came back and won it after goals by Robert Pires and captain Fernando Torres, who scored his 49th league goal of the season; his 101st league goal for Gotham in two seasons. Perhaps it was mercy on the RCC defenders that he would ply his trade in the Premier League next season.

Eto'o, Lassana Diarra and Gary Cahill would as well, as The Wovers finished 2nd, a point off Lecton but with a much better goal difference. Though they didn't quite keep up their form and win the league, Waverley supporters were still happy to gain promotion after last years FA conspiracy. In the top spot, Lecton had done brilliantly to work their way up from 6th, 8 points behind then leaders The Wovers. Though they had finally spent some money in January, after only having free signings during the summer, the total £26 million spent was peanuts compared to what some teams spent. One of the players signed was United player Mame Biram Diouf, who disappointingly never scored 4 goals in a game. Still, 2 goals and 7 assists wasn't too shabby. More good news for Lecton; Cristiano signed a new deal, taking a slight pay cut, now being paid £40,500 p/w.

finally, my well deserved promotion after last years playoff fallacy. watch out premier league!

It would seem i like to spend small very often. Sack the bender!

on a side note, my transfer spending seems tiny. its interesting how some of these clubs are spending masses and masses while others barely spending a penny, even though we all started in the same state, pretty much.

Mate, I just had a takeover and signed 9 players... FOR FREE

Wahoo from midtable to promotion and I got that greedy fecker Ronaldo to take a paycut during the process. Not sure which makes me more proud :D

Yea I've not had a transfer that's been big tbh, doing it the Everton style! Finishing 5th an all.

Glad that manager got sacked, he was dragging me down.

Not That impressed with the replacement either, but we shall see. Signed 1 good player, and one average one. could be an improvement on what I already have. Just need a few defenders

11th is a pretty decent platform from which to launch a promotion assault, keeping off everyone's radar, sneaking in undetected. No one ever suspects the 11th placed team

 we should set up the database, and hand it to Pav. There would be an update every 20 minutes. We would already be in the year 2050

Think they are pretty good updates so far nimic, pay no attention to Paz :).

They are big updates to write, and with doing the screens as well.

People do have lives outside of this place.

Sometimes that is hard to believe!

Especially when people have almost 50k in posts.

Premier League

Though Dalkey had gone 4-3-5 in the second part of the season, much better than the 0-2-12 of the first part, it wasn't enough to save them from relegation, after barely avoiding it last season. There were good signs, though. Of the three games newly hired manager Paul Ince was in charge for, two were won: one of them against the eventual champions. In 13th? Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Yep, Halcyon were relegated, the season after they should have ran away with the league title. There were many reasons, but Tevez scoring a third of the goals he scored last season, playing a game more, certainly didn't help. In 11th and 12th, and facing off for the right to stay in the Premier League, Psmith's FC and Real Sheep, again. In the league, they drew the first match, but in the second to last game PFC showed their intentions by demolishing their eventual playoff rivals in a 4-1 away win. In the playoff final, PFC took the lead with David Villa, but lost it to a Messi goal, before £20.5 million January signing Sergio Floccari made it 2-1 and then 3-1 to Real Sheep. A 90th minute goal by PFC's Kevin Thomson wasn't enough, and Real Sheep survived, again.

In 10th, and taking a fall not quite as massive as Halcyon's, Forest Heath won their last game of the season, saving them from playoff. They might have had their minds on other things though; more on that later. FC Delhi finished 9th, dropping a spot since last season despite spending £150 million on players this season. £17.25 million signing Marinho only played 4 games since arriving from GDH during the January window. Manager Martin O'Neill sure knew how to spend money. You could say almost the same about JEKS manager Robert Gatt, who had done an incredible job considering he's a terrible manager. Also in JEKS' case the main strikers had fallen off a bit, both Huntelaar and Luis Fabiano scoring considerably less than the year before.

Another club who finished lower than last season was Longsight Athletic, despite improving their goal difference by 17 goals. Again keeper Reina could take some credit, as again Longsight Athletic finished with the second least goals conceded; this time they just scored a bunch more as well. In 6th, and with definite mixed feelings about the season, Waverley. Mixed feelings because they were 2nd, equal on points with 1st, during the turn of the year, but finishing 6th in the very first season in the Premier League was nothing to scoff about. In 5th, dropping a couple of place both since last season and since the first part of the season, Licking had the opportunity to finish 2nd, but a draw and a loss in the two last games of the season saw them finish 5th instead. Only 3 points separated 2nd and 6th. In 4th, Leca United had been 8th at the turn of the year. Some decent signings and a good run of form saw them climb the table, and they would hope to produce a better display in the Champions League next season than they did in the Europa League this season.

In 3rd, last season's Championship winners Manchester Buccaneers didn't quite make their wild ambitions on winning back-to-back (different) league titles. Still, 3rd was a fantastic accomplishment, and they made their intentions for next season known by beating fellow promoted club GDH 7-1 at home. In 2nd, last years RPL champions Paz United. After sitting in a disappointing 6th after slightly more than half finished season, a great run of form was enough to overtake four of the teams above them on the table, but not the last. Still, they also had something else on their minds. A club with only one thing on their mind was GDH, and that was winning the league. They didn't fall off like they did in the Championship last season, and won the league with 3 points to spare despite losing their two last games to JEKS and already relegated Dalkey. What made the feat more impressive was the fact that the club captain was an 18 year old local kid, who saw only one substitution worth of league action this season, with the vice captain - a 17 year old local with the same last name - seeing as much action.

RedCafe Cup

The first semi-final was between two RPL teams, Keep Licking That Elbow and Jonny Evans Karate School in a veritable bonanza of silly names. The first leg saw Licking win 2-0 at JEKS' own Jonny's Basement. JEKS almost returned the favour at Licking's The Tasty Elbow, but a goal by Licking meant that the game never went to extra time, Licking going through instead. The second semi-final was between newly promoted Manchester Buccaneers, who were doing a fine job in the league, and last seasons' winners WL102, who weren't doing brilliantly in the Championship. These teams had met in this competition last season as well, with WL102 winning out over a close quarter final tie.

This time, Man Buc grabbed the win at WL102's Stretford Paddock, after two goals by Dzeko and two WL102 own goals. The second leg also ended 4-2 to Man Buc, and they would now face Licking the final after 8-4 on aggregate. The final was a close affair, with the Buccaneers taking the lead after only 5 minutes with Higuain, with Licking equalizing only a couple of minutes later through Robinho. Manchester Buccaneers' Xabi Prieto popped up with the winner after only 35 minutes, in a game that saw a lot of chances missed. They didn't win the league, but they did win the cup!

Europe

There were two RedCafian teams in the Europa League at this point, Licking and Forest Heath. Forest Heath faced Zenit St. Petersburg in the 1st knockout round, and went through after winning 1-0 at home and losing 3-2 away (coming back from 3-0 down). Licking had a rather easier tie, beating Hajduk Split 6-0 over two legs. In the second tie, they had it altogether more difficult, facing Juventus in a tie that ended 6-1 to Juventus on aggregate. This time Forest Heath had the easier, if not easy, tie, as they beat Sporting CP 3-1 over the two legs.

In the quarter finals they faced Norwegian champions Rosenborg, winning both the home and away legs to proceed to the semis. There, the journey finally ended for Forest Heath, as they too succumbed to the might of Juventus, though they had a slightly better showing than Licking, losing 5-2 on aggregate.

Paz United was the only RedCafe team still in the Champions League, and they wanted to make it last. After losing 3-1 away to Olympiakos in the first leg - after taking the lead - a 2-0 win at home (despite a sent-off defender after 47 minutes) meant that they proceeded to the Quarter Final. There they faced Schalke 04, making short work of them both home and away and winning it 3-0 on aggregate. In the Semi Finals things took a turn for the more difficult, as they faced Arsenal. Paz United started the home leg ferociously, going 3-0 up within 40 minutes, and they should probably have had more.

Then they let Arsenal back into the game with 2 quick goals, which meant the away tie was harder. There Arsenal took a quick lead, and was at that point going through themselves. Before a penalty saw Paz United equalize, and another goal saw them take the lead. They progressed to the Championship Finals in their first season abroad, where they would face Manchester United. Who won 3-0, after goals by Berbatov and Guarente. Close, but no cigar.

:( Maybe Paul Ince might start buying some damn players. The only thing stopping me getting absolute innihilated week in week out is Lloris.

Aaargh, missed out on CL football, not cool, was hoping to keep staying in the CL and a Top Four form who earn so much more than the rest
