Gaming RedCafe FIFA12 Tournament - League & Knockout (PS3)

I was gutted when that litle skill run with Modric at the end didn't come to anything. Good game, sorry about the lag :)

I couldn't get to him
The lag wasn't too bad my end, must admit, annoying more than disrupting the first half...and didn't notice it second half

It is frustrating when you play with lag though, as you never know whether it's just your end

Yeah, you can never tell who's connection is responsible for it. But that time it was mine, got Virgin's 50mb package but we barely get 15mb to the router most of the time, and that's before it's gone wirelessly through the ceiling to my PS3. Called Virgin so many times about it, but they do nothing about it!

If you find deault hard then you'll hate manual

Because there's no assistance from the CPU, naturally you have a lot more freedom with passes. You can do a lot you can't do on assisted, e.g. certain types of shots and through balls, crosses, etc. It's harder obviously, but once you play it a lot you'll get used to it.

I never really played semi so I'm not too sure. Although semi is more assisted than manual, I think it just requires you to choose the power.

If you were gonna try manual I'd advise you put lobbed balls and through balls on manual first before anything. I don't know notice any difference on lobbed balls and through balls are much better. I use them as a replacement for long ground passes as they travel much faster instead of bobbling. Unlike assisted through ball you have to power it up, but you get used to that.

I meant that with assisted it annoys me when I want to play a ball into an area and it slings it to the nearest player instead.

I'll probs stock with it for now till I've had some practice.

Yeah will do. What group and anything else I need to know?

Group A.
You have got all your games to play, 9 other players and you can play them twice at any time. 4.5 star teams only and you can't use the same team twice. Results thread is separate to post results. Standard game rules.

That's it I think. Good luck.

I might be on later but don't think you'll probably be on then.

The tournament's been quiet the past week but give it time and I'm sure everything'll pick up again.

Cheers for the two thrashings Damien. As you can see I'm pretty clueless. Not sure how you always seemed to have two players hunting me down. As for my defending crosses, feck, I have no idea where my defenders kept dissappearing to. Absolute rubbish. It's never happened before.

Whew. Good games Stu :) I don't think you're that bad, you remind me a bit of myself in the early stages of the competition, though you're defending better than I did.

As for the two players hunting you down, I use x a fair bit when I don't have the ball so it puts pressure on your players and restricts the space which worked quite well.

In the first game, the lead could have been greater. You didn't play too badly but I had so many chances. That one towards the end where I had the player on the right of the pitch with the ball and another right in front of goal with nobody near him and I decided to shoot... JUST missed.

And for some reason your defence played quite high up the pitch which worked well for me - especially in the second game where I attacked on the break out wide.

Second game, I had a feeling you'd get a draw if not the win. The two headers you conceded were so unlucky. You had the momentum in the first 10 minutes I thought and it felt for me that your players were so much faster than mine. Then when I scored the first it probably knocked a bit of wind out of your sails but you still kept going, only for your defence to concede a worse one just after half time I think. You did have a lot more chances and like I said, could have got a result out of it if it wasn't for terrible luck.

Good luck for the rest of the tournament, I think you'll do quite well. Certainly not as bad as you made yourself out to be.

Done. Things looking on the up for me now:

Amazing.

Just gone off, Hal.

And with those 2 wins Damien and the loss taken off, you've shot up the table to 3rd!

Can't believe it! Top 4 at the end of the group stage will be very tight. Think I've played the most out of everyone so far so others around me have got quite a few games in hand. I'd be thrilled to finish midtable after the start to the campaign I had but will take one game at a time and see how it goes.
