I've lost a few of the players I wanted but I'm happy enough with what i'm getting.

Continuing with the theme of tough feckers

AllanLambSabinaPark_2488411.jpg

Average of 36 at a tough time (played 22 of his 79 games against probably the best bowling attack of all time).

RI's Bastards
1 Graeme Smith
2 Geoff Marsh
3 Allan Lamb
4 Aravinda de Silva
5 Michael Clarke
6 XX
7 Brian McMillan
8 Jeff Dujon
9 Heath Streak
10 Anil Kumble
11 Glenn McGrath

I like it. The odd team might win against them but they'll know they've been in a fight. Strokeplayers and guys who'll get dug in while batting. Strike bowlers, quality spin option and partnership breaking part timers. Bit of everything if I may say so.

I've edited the list a couple of posts above and PM'd kps

I am in a huge dilemma, after finding out only 2 players left to finish my team(i thought there were 3 left)
This is going to be tough.

Well you need a good 12th man too for different match ups. Don't forget that!

He offers x factor. I wouldn't place too much importance on the number of tests he has played, that number will definitely rise. A lot of the older players will have never played against someone as unorthodox. That along with Malinga's awkward arm action will be my secret weapon.

Desert Eagle's Desert Eagles:

Hayden
Sehwag
xxx
Hussey
Sammy
Dhoni
Bravo
Morrison
Mendis
Malinga
Srinath

Looking ace mate. That bowling attack is tops and like you've said, a lot of hard men in your batting.

You've a gung ho opening pair which either comes off spectacularly or fails. But definitely the strong point of your team. Hussey is solid at 4 but after that you're a bit 'thin' on batsmen. Either way, decent enough side. Just think you might not be able to bowl sides out with that bowling attack.

Think you've gone too far the other way now after not picking any bowlers initially. Darren Sammy at 5 with an average of 21 doesn't inspire confidence. Sure you can push Dhoni up a slot but he doesn't play that high even for India since he's very weak against the quicks on a pitch that offers anything. Think you didn't need Mendis since Sehwag's a very underestimated spinner especially if the pitch gives him any help.

Thats what I was going for. Its a question of votes though. Some of the younger guys haven't seen a lot of my players - Marsh, Lamb, Big Mac and Dujon. I know they're quality but will they bring in the votes?

We are picking a 12th man? For what exactly?
I tthought that the winner would take a player from the loser's team and replace him?

We are picking them because it is what the first post in the thread said.

Did anyone PM KPS? I want to pick soon. Last few rounds, we need to increase the speed!!

Tbh, I would be worried about that if I were you - "names" will probably get a lot of votes - I haven't seen too many of those names you mentioned.

Yeah I suppose everyone picks from their real cricket watching era. I really started watching cricket around 85 and barely missed an India game through 2000 after which it's been a steady decline. I still watch a bit but I don't really look out for them.

Obviously all my favourites are from the late 80's and 90's. Also I had this thing about not picking any tainted player...eliminating some of the guys I used to love like Azhar and Cronje. Probably a bit of an overreaction and I don't really mind others picking them but it is what it is.

Exactly right though - My cricket watching was at its peak in the late 90s and early 2000s. Now I rarely get time, but stayed up all night to watch the WC. I try to watch India games but not much else. We all pick from the time we watched the most.

Going for Michael Kasprowicz to complete my pace attakck.

To complete my bowling attack (3 seamers and 3 spinners including Afridi )

Paul Adams

Slow left arm chinaman.
Paul_Adams-2.jpg

And to top it off... He has an INSANE action.

1. Shahid Afridi
2. Alec Stewart
3. Lara
4. Jones
5. Lakshman
6.
7. Stuart Broad
8. Paul Reifel
9. Adams
10. Ahmed
11. Ntini

I bat all the way down to 8, have 3 seamers, 2 spinners and part time. Surely this team can take 20 wickets, and can also bat teams out of the game!!

Pretty excited tbh.

Posting from my phone, so no picture. Going to round up my bowling attack with Dominic Cork
Which will mean I have a left arm fast swing bowler, a right arm fast reverse swing bowler, a fast medium seam bowler and an accurate quickie in Watson to complement them

What the feck do you care? You need a keeper...unless you're already worrying about your twelfth man? My advice - don't. With 20 to 25 picks to go before that pick, you'll be set for a lot of disappointments. Personally, I don't start thinking names till my turn is 3 or 4 away.

Maybe Dravid is his keeper.
