Recommend Some Great Music Albums

Some brilliant suggestions so far, suprised nobody has mentioned Zeppelin but I suppose they're too obvious. I'd also suggest

Joy Division - Closer
Bruce Springsteen - Born to run
Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes
Idlewild - The remote part

If you're looking for something a little different, I've been listening to a lot of Albert King lately

Though you're into rap, you may have had the misfortune of not being familiar with Digable Planets' Blowout Comb. It's the most classic of the classic albums you'll not always find in any list of hip hop classics, and possibly the most classic anyway.

Another few albums that I've been listening to repeatedly over the last few months -

1. Oh Brother, Where Art Thou OST.

2. Rumors - Fleetwood Mac

3. Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks

Each one of these is a certified masterpiece. Satisfaction Guaranteed !!

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

I cannot recommend this album enough.

Just a fecking great album that one. I wore my disc out from playing it constantly.

Shit, you have great taste after all. Maybe you're right about The Bends.

He's completely right about The Bends, that's one of the reasons why I rate the Doc, the other would be the courage shown by him in posting a picture of himself and 'those legs' :D

Nope, not a typo. I'm usually not a big fan of indie rock, but I enjoy this album.

Some decent singles but pretty bland and terrible live in my opinion but each to their own I suppose.

Like I said your list is otherwise great with some of my all time favourites.

Oh and to the op, Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys is a classic.

Santana's first album
Big Brother and the Holding Co. - Cheap Thrills

Listen to what Doevle recommends. Both good lists he has.

good list ruined by Jamiroquai.

Thanks mate, surely we all have one guilty pleasure ?

That Jamiroquai album reminds me of the girl I was seeing at the time, special special lady she was, also great vocals from JK, some deep down dirty funk, cracking 70s synths. Always thought it was a decent album that but I can see why some people don't like them.

Desire - Bob Dylan
Closing Time - Tom Waits
After the Goldrush - Neil Young
Alive and Amplified - The Mooney Suzuki

Ballad of the Broken Seas - Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan
Venus on Earth - Dengue Fever

Come on Feel the Illinoise! - Sufjan Stevens

Some good shit there to be going on with.

Porcupine Tree - The Sky Moves Sideways

My favourite track of it, The Moon Touches Your Shoulder:

No-Man - Flowermouth
Public Enemy - It Takes A Nation of Millions to Hold us Back
Amplifier - Amplifier
Pure Reason Revolution - The Dark Third
Massive Attack -Mezzanine
