Rebuilding Real Madrid - how do you do it? | Buy well

Militao, Hazard, Jovic, Mendy, Rodrygo + Eriksen/Ndombele? Sounds like an excellent rebuilding summer.

It just seems so easy for Real to sign players. Really liked the look of Jovic, but once they were interested, there was only one club he was going to end up signing for.

Well first you find a player who clearly doesnt belong there and extend his contract. After that its easy.

How does Jokic fit alongside Vinicius Jr?

He is a striker, a pure number 9, Vinicius is a LW. They are not occupying the same position or space. Jovic fill fight it out with Benzema. Thats also bad news for Mariano, but i guess he never really was good enough for them.

You do it by identifying the players you need and buying them. You do it by freezing the players out who you dont want like Bale. Ruthless but they are proactive.

Militao, Mendy, Hazard, Jovic are good signings. But, which midfielder do you think they will sign? Eriksen? Pogba? N'Dombele?

Florentino Perez is transfer wizard Ed Woodward thinks he is.

"Watch this space" :lol::lol:

Buying Jovic is one way to start the rebuild. Brilliant striker who can consistently score and assist goals for many years.

I think their main guy for transfers is Jose Angel Sánchez, the club's general director. He does all the ground work and negotiations.

Welcome Jovic!

There still needs to be seen how he performs in the club but on paper getting Hazard and Jovic is great for us and very promising.

My god they're not fecking around are they?

That;s how you fecking rebuild a team, nice and quick.

They're quite efficient it seems. Imagine if they could do things others could only dream of..

Insane transfer window so far for Real and the amounts don't seem too crazy. If they add Hazard to the mix wow!!

1 year in the wilderness (where they made CL) and they're already through with their rebuild.

Meanwhile at United :(

Rodrygo 50
Mendy 50
Militão 50
Jovic 60
Hazard 120

That’s 330 million with a midfielder still to go and maybe still an extra surprise.

What’s the record amount of money a club has spent in arrivals during one summer? Anyone ever broke the 400 million mark?

PSG in '17?

They are a mess but those are the exact signings (Jovic, Mendy, Militao) they should be making. Hazard is a great signing too albeit an obvious one.

PSG in '17?

City with 317m, PSG loaned Mbappé. But if we take into account the commercial context, it has to be Real Madrid in 2009, they spent 258m when there was a lot less money in the game.

It's true that Militao and Rodrygo are joining this summer, but I think that regarding FFP they are signings from the past season.

Might depend on whether we wrote cristiano's sale down for 17/18 or 18/19

Don't think Madrid are in any danger of FFP even if they spend 500m. It's averaged out over 5 years isn't it? Also sales offset against it and they also haven't spent big for last 4 years have they? I think they could probably get away with a huge spending spree this summer.
