Reality-Monopoly Draft

I've got exactly the right amount of attacking players for where we're up to in the drafting.

Looks unbalanced to me and to fit them all well you can't just pick any midfielder/defender/fullback. I think you'll struggle there and this drop could be a good opportunity to reshuffle a bit.

I'll inbox you my plans

Is there any neutral lurking around who can help? Have a couple of ideas I want to get advise on?

BTW, my pick is friggin' AWESOME. Pick of the draft winner by a mile considering the shitty box I found it in. Turning this Monopoly board into a chess board
Interesting. I remember that there is someone very good who came out of retirement to play for some godawful 2nd/3rd division side and figured that he would be eligible but couldn't, for the life of me, remember who it was. Maybe it's your gem?

It's not a GOAT, just the handiest pick you could even remotely get in that box. Delighted.

You probably mean the 60s born one that a couple of years ago turned up for Cambridge or Oxford.

I think I know who you're talking about. Was the feeling just like Michael Jordan joining the Washington Wizards?

Antohan all over the pitch: shadow drafter, RT's special advisor, co-runner of the draft, neutral advisor for p-nut/prath, guardian for all matters likely to influence the game dynamics...

He's the Luis Enrique of the draft community

He hasn't advised me. I just told him what I was planning.

He criticised and I said I didn't care ;lol:

I once ended up as advisor to 4-5 teams in parallel  But the likes of @MJJ and @crappycraperson can attest that I often kept mum and told them I couldn't comment.

In this format it isn't really an issue, more chatting about direction you are going in and throwing up names along those lines within the remit of a specific box.

I told you you shouldn't. I call it feedback, not criticism. I doubt anyone would disagree Goofy-Neymar-Sanchez-Bale presents a drafting challenge going forward.

@Edgar Allan Pillow, as Juve goodies start running low, one question: what's your take on second division here? Anything but the top one? E.g. the Championship is what you call second division elsewhere, yet the second division in England is more like a third...

The spirit of this is: won a lower league tier, correct?

Looks clear.... the second division? The one just below the top league?

I'm only asking for clarification as to whether it refers to "immediately below top league" or "literally called Second Division", there could be players in either and there have been ill-conceived league setups whereby there isn't a second division per se but Second Div A, B, C, D (regional splits, league or cup format) and the winner of each regional league gets promoted, but there's no one winner of one single second division. Brazilian league formats are a complete nightmare to get to grips with. In fact, more often than not they haven't had a league at all, just multiple layers of cups in knockout format.

The easy "no debate" way around it obviously is "won a lower tier league". It's not top and it's not knockout format.

Hate that word.

Yeah from my personal experience you haven't really advised about what other teams are doing or even which player to go for in most cases. Are more of a sounding board for ideas with your recommendations thrown in at times, don't really get the shadow master thing that most accused you of.

I guess some people don't understand I have more fun picking without participating, or that by not participating that let's me engage with any manager wanting to have a chat around their team, direction, etc. without "rivalry" being an issue.

Once you win one draft you fully realise that winning them is irrelevant, there's far more fun and reward in the process.

Second = The one after first.

Not third or any other lower tier. Just second.

If any nation's league formats make it ambiguous, post up and let's discuss.

You are not helping with the broad brush stuff. First or top? EPL is the top division, but not the first division, and the second division is the third tier in England. That is, second tier or literally second division? E.g. Spain have Segunda B, is that a second division?

@Edgar Allan Pillow what's happening with injuries now? Are we still losing a player to injury before our first match, and is our allocated player eligible to be injured?

Trying to injury-proof my squad a little and finding it pretty fecking tough, even with versatile players like Gullit on board.

I blame the alcohol.
