Maguire missing wouldn't be the end of the world, but Ugarte would be huge miss and it'd mean we'd have to rely on Casemiro playing the 90.

Collyer is back so perhaps not the full 90 but yeah, I'd imagine Case will be starting.

I'd take a draw here right now. Take them back to OT and get another draw and knocked out on penalties again.

We're not good at Old Trafford so probably need a win in Spain. But that'll be really difficult you'd think. Hard to be excited about United games these days...

Oh come on.. Ugarte IS our midfield, that is a massive blow to our already piss poor chances

Agree there, not sure what we even do as we can't play Casemiro Bruno as a 2 away from him or we have no purpose even spending on the travel to Spain, we don't even have Martinez who could maybe do a job in midfield and Kone isn't registered so I have no clue what we do here, hoping Collyer is back and I'd go with something like this:

    Mazraoui De Ligt Yoro
    Dalot Casemiro Collyer Dorgu
    Zirkzee Garnacho
    Bruno

Will be happy if the tie is still alive for the return leg. A 1 goal deficit wouldn't be catastrophic but a tough ask.

    Onana
Yoro - de Ligt - Heaven
    Dalot - Mazraoui - Casemiro - Dorgu
    Bruno - Zirkzee - Garnacho

I was actually thinking about just this earlier, how we should maybe try him in the "Ugarte" role. Has pretty good ball control, very good stamina, also a good ball winner and probably a little better passer off the ball then Ugarte.

Case might be ok against a Spanish side. Maybe. They’ll be falling over so much that his lack of legs might not matter so much.

Ugarte is a huge miss. Real will be favourites but it's so important we manage a win by any means necessary

    Was going to say similar

Even if Ugarte was fit, I’d start Casemiro alongside him here. Sociedad don’t exactly scream of a team who play a quick or intense style either.

I’d do the old Fergie in Europe trick, experienced CM next to one who can cover the ground. Casemiro/Collyer

    That's the squads age breakdown.

    17yo - Harry Amass

    Dalot Casemiro Bruno Dorgu
    Zirkzee Garnacho

Alternatively Bruno up to AM and Eriksen at CM with Garnacho coming in second half.

Collyer will not start. He has just returned from injury. Heaven will not start yet.

Is there a reason Dorgu's full name is used everywhere. I noticed it on the official website that they do it for him.

And all those 30yo other than Bruno will be gone in the summer, maybe also Onana

Let's hope some of the youngsters stake a claim for more regular games with an impressive performance, if given the chance.
