Discussion Your Lineup Prediction

  • They will fall over and act as if a sniper put one thru their knees at the slightest touch and the referee will be more than happy to give them every foul

It's part of the game and what Arteta and Pep refer to as the dark arts. Just coach the players into winning tactical fouls and not conceding tactical fouls on the press.

Can this season just end? I'm sick of football and everything to do with football. Can't wait for the season to end and I can just enjoy life.

I say that, but on Thursday I'll be full of belief and hope for a five minute period before kick-off

I will happily hammer the club for many things, however not for this as they wouldn't have expected to use him this season.
Oh yeah, I wouldn't expect the club to foresee that a 17-year-old might be arguably our most dangerous striker at this point in the season - but here we are.

Yeah in hindsight they should have included him in A squad as wasn't eligible for B one

Pathetic isn't it. Haven't we learned yet from the previous 30+ games this season

He will get minutes in the league and Rasmus is actually decent in the EL for some reason. Although I can't see him turning it on and off like that there was flicker yesterday when he was playing at pace in the first half and he nearly found his way through once or twice but he needs to be much sharper when the ball comes to him.

Trust us to get a Spanish club.

With no CL teams allowed in the EL we have to be looking to win this competition despite how badly we've been for most of the season.

I never understood doom scrolling until I just read this thread.
I can understand it in some ways given how shite we are but the frustrating thing is that it's Real Sociedad and possibly Lyon in the next round if we make it. Decent teams but it's not exactly Arsenal or City (and we've beaten both of them away this season). If we keep it at a draw away from home then I'm hoping OT will see us through the following week.

    ...............Onana
    .....De Ligt...Maguire...Yoro...
    ....Dalot...Ugarte...Casemiro...Dorgu
    ....Zirkzee...Garnacho...Bruno.

Dropping Hojlund to the bench to be replaced by Garnacho as striker peeling off to the left.

Garnacho hasn't been brilliant but we just cannot keep picking Rasmus Hojlund.

Real Sociedad at home in Europe this season.

    Lost 2-1 v Anderlecht
    Won 2-0 v Ajax
    Won 3-0 v Dynamo Kyiv
    Won 2-0 v PAOK
    Won 5-2 v Midtjylland

In La Liga their home record is P13 W6 D2 L5

Cannot believe we failed to register Chido Obi for europe seems like a massive balls up

Yeah, I think they have a decent chance of pulling off a result. Agree that we should be thrashing a team like this, but that’s not where we are. Hopefully the collective psyche of the forum heals a bit soonish (or develops some scar tissue). Some people in here maybe need to find a hobby that makes them less miserable.

The question is whether in February we should have anticipated that he’d be more useful than an extra midfielder or an extra defender. Given that Wheatley is one of our registered forwards, and isn’t currently at the club, an extra forward does seem as though it might have been the better choice.

Yeah once Wheatley went out on loan along with the possibility of Rashford leaving we should have registered Obi when the window closed
