RAWK Goes Into Meltdown 2016-17 Edition

Its preseason. It really means feck all.

Irrelevant, they beat a decent barca team, not just beat them but dominated you can wear your United tinted glasses all you want but the fact is it's a very good result for them in terms of a confidence boost

As I said I'm sure if United just beat barca 4-0 you along with others would be banging on about it no end. If you reverse the result and barca thrash Liverpool 4-0 you'd most likely be laughing at them

Definitely because it would have been their 8th preseason game and Barcas first.

I remember us beating Madrid 3-1 in our first preseason with Van Gaal. Just saying.

Edit: And Barca too

Roma, Inter(penos), Madrid, Scouse, Valencia in his first, Barca(iirc Januzaj scored a cracker playing as a striker) in his second, only losing to PSG.

Say what you like, LvG could navigate a hell of a pre-season.

I want to congratulate Liverpool on winning their last European game of the season.

On a separate note, here's a Liverpool fan after thrashing a prime Dortmund under Klopp 4-0 in pre-season:

They went on to finish 6th, being on the wrong end of a 6-1 humiliation to Stoke on the last game of the season.

You can read pre-season results any way you want. Yes it's a good result, but the acid test will be when the league starts proper.

I was at the game for a mate's stag do, and they really didn't dominate.

It was a strange game, they started quickly and got the goal but then it was all barca who should have been about 3-1 up. Liverpool blitzed them after HT obviously, barca just couldn't handle the balls in behind, something they'll have to sort out.

I was bored out of my mind throughout the whole thing, is was pretty dire stuff.

It was hilarious hearing all the Liverpool fans around me bleat on about how 'this was gonna be their year'. I always thought it was just the muppets at RAWK who talked like that but it turns out they really all our deluded.

I bet you was bored considering Messi and Suarez barely showed up that's what the vast majority of the crowd was there to see most likely

I've got a few mates that are Liverpool fans but they don't ever bleat on about stuff like that, I guess I'm lucky in that sense considering the rest are deluded as hell.

One one hand, its pre season and all that.

On the other, we beat Real and Barca in Van Gall's 2 pre seasons, both 3-1, and I am sure as shite that we got carried away both times, so its kind of understandable that they are 'happy' about it.

So I can't laugh too much at this. I will laugh at reality hitting them hard over the next 8 months or so though.

Yeah Messi and Suarez were such a let down. It was pretty quiet as well considering there was so many of them there, especially during the first half when Barca were just knocking it about. I guess it was more of their armchair fans rather than their main hardcore support seeing as it was at Wembley though.

Take a bow there. Nicely done

nahh, they still have to travel to Wales to play Swansea.

Worth its own thread there

You sir, have won the thread.

They are playing Mainz today...

In all seriousness though, not having to play in europe is going to help them in the league. No two ways about it.

If we had a choice, im sure we would rather not be in the Europa League.
Personally no i want to win the europa league as i refuse to devalue a european competition.

Mourinho will play the kids though won't he?
You will get through the group and then you have every chance of winning it. You got to be a favourite.

Think you're right that mourinho at least will wish he wasn't in it and will see it as a distraction early doors.

Liverpool not being in it will help us because of klopps style. Much more rest between games etc. I'd still rather be in though.

Come on guys. Stop ruining this thread. There is a discussion thread elsewhere.

Some early RAWK reaction coming in
World class first half from Ibrahimovic.

Just watch his ability to lose his marker.

The way he constantly drops deep to by the half way with his hands on his hips is a nightmare for his marker, not knowing whether to come out or hold the line....

After vardy Goal :D

Time to bring Zlatan on in my opinion.
You mean the effervescent 34 year old (Thats thirty four years old man) who is going to tear the super fast paced premier league up where you have virtually a split second before you are closed down, you mean that guy right?

If they bring him on here, he ll win them this match.
And probably next match too, he's that good. I've been told he ll get 30+ goals easily this season.
I for one, can't wait till he comes off the bench today.
They should bring Zlatan on
Its laughable to think a 34/5 year old is going to rock up and stomp all over this league, the most demanding league physically in the world. You know what though, 34 is the new 24

And Ibra scores :D
And it's a goal - media wank fest about to begin.
Sky Sports News have their week sorted.

Macca please shut the feck up about Zlatan
Best ever offside goal ever. Best officials as well. English awesomness

whatever happens there is nothing to worry about, utter shite and drab football

The guy who is trying to take the piss with the poor mans crouch hashtag thing. Even when taking the piss, surely it should be rich mans Peter crouch.
Some people are so dull it's frightening

@Zlatan 7

it's a dilemma this, :D

but I think via #ApplicationOfRawkLogic that we are inferior to them & thus likely to have an inferior version of Peter Crouch in the team, innit?
