There is no way the first half performance was worse than anything under Moyes. We created a terrific chance for 1-0 when Hernandez missed a sitter and they hardly overran us at any point. They put us under pressure in possession and forced us to make bad passes but didn't exactly capitalise on those.
LVG sorted it at HT and we went on to deservedly win the match.

Alls I was saying is that you've got work to do but that's to be expected. I reckon that game really helped LVG think about what he's going to do this season. One of those is to keep Rooney fit at all costs.
That's an understatement. In the first half we were pants. But that should worry them, not us. After all, we'd had 48 hours and a long flight from the Madrid game, and the pitch was waterlogged. We've seen plenty of evidence of how well we can play under Van Gaal so far. They should be worried that we were able to play so poorly for half of the match and still beat them comfortably. If the United who played against Madrid had turned up, they'd have been battered.

But to be fair, when we played badly under Moyes we would never be 2-1 up after the first half. If you play badly and win, no one cares as much as when you play badly and lose, which we did a hell of a lot of under Moyes.
