It is. Especially when the first line of the opening post is: My simple question is this: Is Brendan the right manager for the job?
Also Cole was injury prone and Chelsea didn't want him, while Milner is being chased by CL clubs who are offering more money and seems to prefer us because he wants to play as much football as possible.
But hey, he's English and free so he's obviously wank.
Mignolet
Clyne Skrtel Sakho Moreno
Can Kondgobia
Milner Henderson Coutinho
Vietto
sorted.
Migs (Backup)
Clyne Skrtel Sakho Moreno (Wisdom, Manquillo, Lovren)
Pirlo (Lucas)
Henderson Milner (Allen & Can)
Coutinho (Lallana)
Tevez Sturridge (Ings & Origi) ---- want Vietto next year
fecking buzzing if we get Milner. I would take a player with Milners attitude over a player with Sterlings attitude all day long, he`s a winner and he`s fecking quality on the pitch. We are crying out for experience in the squad and Milner will bring that too. This is the exact type of player our squad has been lacking for a while now.
The fact that City fans are gutted to see him leaving tells a story of it`s own. Couldn`t give a toss about wages, great start to the window for me.
Haven't been this excited about a signing for a long time.
I think Brendan will get more out of him than his previous managers. A much more flexible attacking system than Pellegrini employs, plus a high press, more game time, plus probable set piece responsibilities. Coutinho, Henderson, Sterling, Ibe, all flourished under those conditions.
The point here is that time is ticking. Mourinho is strengthening Chelsea season by season. Arsene Wenger is showing worrying signs of life. Van Gaal is a managerial genius, and more than any other manager in football, he has a clear idea of how it all fits together tactically. With the amount of money at his disposal, god help us all when man utd stop buying players at random, and buy them to fit his system.
to be fair I think Milner is a damn sensible signing for them, considering the previous clusterfecks they've made this season.
If they use him as a wingback i think he would do wonders for them. That said i think hes also better than all their other attacking options.to be fair I think Milner is a damn sensible signing for them, considering the previous clusterfecks they've made this season.
My sentiment exactly. He's just another squad player, exactly what Liverpool don't need right now. Not to mention taking up invaluable wages to the tune of £150k a week.Imagine being excited about signing Milner
Personally, my heart sinks every time I see him on the team sheet for England.

Has he got banned yet?
Surprisingly not PoP said:I don't think we're a millions miles off that philosophy that Brendan highlighted three years ago. Benteke clearly fills into that number 7 zone but we have many of them already and think really we should be focusing on better quality in zone 5 and 6, players on zone 4 and a keeper who fits his philosophy better. I know Mignolet improved but he just doesn't fit the mould. Milner would help in zone 5 and Clyne in zone 4. I still think we'll need more in zone 5 and 6 on top of that and a keeper though.
I see can, Milner, Henderson and another as the zone 5 players. One more in that mix would be great. Zone 6 we have Coutinho, Sterling, Lallana, Ibe and Markovic. I think we'll need someone of greater quality there to push us forward and get us goals. Elsewhere on the pitch I don't actually see many issues and think we have good back up too.
I can see why we push for a zone 7 as Sturridge is injury prone and origi and Balotelli would then be our back ups. That's where Benteke comes in, whether he is right depends not just on him but on his link play with players in zone 5 and 6. The key is to have someone who can hold the ball and release it quick in behind to create opportunities whilst also getting on the end of chances. Sturridge is perfect, just injury prone. If we could get someone more reliable than him but in the same ilk that would be perfect.
He's mentioned zones through 1-7 for the players. He forgot about Boyzone, dangerzone and the place where all their fans come from, the twilight zone.
I think one of his posts way back when was about the different zones. I think he basically stuck a few vertical and horizontal lines on a sketch of a pitch in paint and numbered the resulting squares to illustrate it.Can anyone else understand what this bellend is bleating on about?

I'd love to see this.I think one of his posts way back when was about the different zones. I think he basically stuck a few vertical and horizontal lines on a sketch of a pitch in paint and numbered the resulting squares to illustrate it.
Apparently he's above using layman terms like striker, winger and such.

It turns out it was a game of sorts. I don't know why he's stuck with it though.I'd love to see this.
Ah! Liverpool should be a tennis club? This is the only way I can make sense of those zones with the players he mentioned:
