RAWK Goes into Meltdown 2014/2015 - The "We go again" Edition

I refer to it as Liverpoolitis. Seemingly rational, sane people who can carry on logical, reasoned discussions on most topics then turn into raving lunatics on anything related to Liverpool Football Club of Merseyside. Very, very deadly brain infection that usually has no cure.

My favourite comment on this entire website is and probably forever will be is the reply to the RAWK comment saying something along the lines of "going to very, very interesting to see what happens when, us, Barca and Madrid go to renew our kit deals". Can't remember where it is but it's on this thread somewhere.

There are not all bad tbf

"This thread is making red cafe rawk meltdown thread too easy."

Interesting that they still call Evra a liar.

I thought Suarez saying he didn't bite Chiellini (while the entire world was watching him bite Chiellini from 100 different angles) followed by him apologising for biting Chiellini, might have put at end to that. I mean there's no way he could have lied during the Evra saga is there, if he's prepared to lie about something the entire world can blatantly see. But na, Evra is the liar in all this.

This is what I read........

Their entire fanbase is starting to crack.

You can't blame them though. Their massive inferiority complex has come about from constantly living in Liverpool's shadow. When they look at our club, they see the best club in the world, with the best fans in the world. It's all starting to take it's toll on them. Especially now that they're known as a mid-table team in decline across the world.

They're not even the top club in manchester anymore. Must be hard to take for most of them.

As for evra, he just wanted to move to a bigger club towards the end of his career. But he's certainly not going to be missed. A shit stain on the premier league for his entire time in it, is probably the nicest thing I can say about the compulsive lying cheating c*nt.

That's gold.

???

Well that's one way of avoiding our shadow, I guess.

Their massive inferiority complex has come about from constantly living in Liverpool's shadow.

That shadow being the one created by the vastly toxic clouds of smugness that come from their inexplicably high opinions of themselves and the shithole that they live in?

You always get some snarky cnut on twitter going "United winning titles? HAH", even when Van Gaal stated his goals a few of them piped up. What have they won in the last 10 years? 1 European Cup and a league cup and the title of "SHOULD'VE WON THE LEAGUE LA" twice? Compare that to us.

Major delusions of grandeur. They'll get 5th, Lambert and Remy will be overworked and Sturridge will need to try and carry the team. They'll burn out and slip out near the end.

He said that, ffs, in one breath, they'd struggle for top four, but got a bang on chance to win the CL.

Well to be fair there's a stupid team who wins the CL now and again despite being utter shite in every other competition that season.

Like Liverpool.

'Stevie stayed and Luis left. I remember the panic setting in amongst us not so long ago at the prospect of another star striker leaving?! Where would we find a replacement at such short notice? How would the club survive? Well, Keegan left and Kenny came in and all was well.

Of course that fear reappeared with Torres, but I wonder if that whole episode, and how well we've played recently, has made us realise it really isn't the be all and end all when a star turns to shooting star and all that is left is the vivid burning tail of a memory of former glory.

So today when I read that Gerrard is to give up international football and Suarez is headed for tikitakatapas land, I noticed that my soul was at ease, at peace and the more important news of the two was Gerrard potentially lengthening his career at Anfield. Of course its easy when one cares not so much for the national team, but also that the prospect of Suarez heading off didn't set alarm bells ringing in the pit of my stomach where all football emotion seems to live. In a small bungalow.

The king is dead, long live the king they say, well cheerio Luis, like the previous small, waspish, silky soccer skilled Spaniard who amazed and delighted us (that goal v Juventus, come on now, just smashing...) you will be missed, but just as we watch your car disappear down the road, like leaving relatives, we will turn smiling into the home that is Anfield and are reminded that players come and go, but Liverpool is steadfast.

A bit like Stevie's intentions. Welcome back Gerrard, long may you live as a king in our court.'

Genuinely batty but I lost it at the throwaway bungalow line.

The bungalow line is great.

Also, "not so long ago..." It was almost forty years ago. Time flies when you're not winning the league, I guess.

'When a player leaves' when translated into RAWK-speak becomes

when a star turns to shooting star and all that is left is the vivid burning tail of a memory of former glory.

That's adorable. Do you think he actually believes it?

Last season's crushing disappointment has sent some of them over the edge.

tbf, after Utd failed dismally in 92/3, after appearing to have it won, my bungalow went supernova too
