:lol: they posted a youtube video that was rather underwhelming. Usually when someone shows a player off you say 'Well feck me, he looks good in taht video but we'll wait and see. Promising looking stuff'.

I said.. 'The feck? That was so average?... ' we'll see how he goes... :/

Hopefully they can channel some Rafa in flopping dutch league players.

I'm pretty sure Lucas would get quite a few games for us, but I'm pretty sure De Gea had a far better season that Reina. Reina had a shocker last season, and I'm pretty sure De Gea will have a far better season this time around as well.
 
Fergie has said that he doesn't play with limited ball winning DM's. Depending on who is managing :lol:.

As a straight replacement for Carrick I think MC would be a lot better. Plays more pushed up and is a far better mid range passer.

There's no doubt he's a better player than Downing. Would I want him to play for us though? No. Simple really.

You wouldn't want Nani to play for you... why?

I mean, you're willing to let the lowest cretin in world football play for you, why not let (innocent) Nani? Nani didn't do diddly squat, fall, dive, or even complain when Kompany almost sent him to hospital for 6 months, and is a superior player to Suarez in dribbling, shooting passing and creating.
 
Liverpool have become such a typical midtable club.

I would rather play Carrick too, but the fact is, Lucas would get a lot of games for us nevertheless. Especially last season. When Scholes came back, Carrick let him do the majority of the longer passes, and only took one on himself when there was a very good opportunity; whereas before Scholes came back Carrick took it upon himself to do the long crossfield balls; with Lucas we'd have a far stronger defensive player in a 442, but one whose passing completion rate is very high; obviously he'll not be playing many long balls, but Carrick would pick up the slack, like he does for our current younger crop.

I don't want a De Jong as much as anyone on the caf, but Lucas is far better defensively, and a better passre too.

I feel Lucas has become overrated from being injured.
 
If the criteria was a massively neutered sideways passing ball winner. Lucas would win WPOTY every year. Unfortunately in the modern game good CB's do that job now.
