RAWK goes into Meltdown 20/21 Edition

People still think City are their biggest challengers

City are not the City they used to be.

I do and I don't understand why that's funny or why City would need to be the City they used to be for that to be true. Everyone's a bit shit.

If Mane went down he would have been yellow carded followed by a 2 hour special on MOTD focusing on why he is destroying the beautiful game, the following day there would be a 7 page special in all newspapers claiming he's pissing on the grave on whatever old time footballer died that week. No way we get a penalty if Mane dives.

feck me. We have a number of injuries meaning the quality of subs we can bring on is severely lacking or in some instances they are just back from injury. Also, given our luck injuries, he's reticent about making his 3rd sub too early incase we suffer another injury and we are left with ten men. Critical thinking not your strong point but I'd recommend not continuing to buy into the media narrative and thinking our manager is some kind of spoofer.

Shaqiri coming on in the 91st minute when chasing a goal against Newcastle. Explain the reasoning to me?

Gini coming on instead of Ox or Shaqiri when chasing a goal against Newcastle. Explain the reasoning to me?

I've covered that in my post!!

Sorry but you can’t hold back a 3rd sub when you are drawing 0-0 against shite due to fear of a player getting injured.
..
Our mentality monsters are currently mentally tired. It isn't that surprising given the ridiculous scheduling. Hopefully it is something we can get through.
It's not just scheduling (although we've had it best if everyone this week) but I don't think any team in recent history, in England, has maintained the sort of form we've had in the last 2 seasons into a third. It's just so so hard to do. Add in some setbacks it's even harder
..
We've had a shocking time with injuries and the sheer number of games played and any kind of dip and dickheads are out gunning for Klopp.

'Supporters' eh?
.
We just have to make it out of the holiday fixtures, it is always tough over Christmas and new year. Let's remember the likes of united have hardly had an injury lately whereas at one stage we were getting one a game. It's bound to have a consequences, but now we have players coming back into the side. We just have to regain some momentum get a win and off we go again.
..

Bit of a slump with two draws shows me just how incredibly high this teams standards have become. We'll get our mojo back soon enough. top of the league going into 2021
Well, it's not like we played Bayern. Newcastle and West Brom are teams we should be beating without incredibly high standards.
..

Considering we are getting one of our best players back into the team over the next couple of games, lets see how we do from there.

Absolutely - 2 big games coming up so the time to change this poor run of form is now.
..
Well Thiago back was a positive. End thread.

Banging on about thiago as if he nutmegged the entire Newcastle team twice
To be fair when you’ve had to endure watching Milner and Henderson dictate your midfield, any midfielder with an ounce of flair would excite you when he comes on.

Some terrible takes in here again- things like players losing interest, etc. The players are knackered- hopefully getting some bodies back is the first step to better rotation and bringing energy to our game

We had Ox, Origi & Minamino on the bench today unused. Who are you hoping to return that wasnt available tonight?
Our midfield three was a mistake. Zero creativity. Why we didn’t put the Ox or Minamino
On god knows! We were so slow in the 1st half. Frustrating
..
Sadio has 6 goals and 4 assists in 15 games in the league
Bobby has 5 goals and 3 assists in 16 games in the league
Diogo has 5 goals in 9 games in the league
Mo has 13 goals and 3 assists in 15 games in the league
Our attackers have been excellent this season which is why we’re top scorers and have the best GD. None of them need singling out.....
....but to see people singling out Mo of all of them is absolutely staggering
..
We're not winning the title.
You’ll absolutely walk it, no way is Lennon turning that around
Have you seen it in the tea leaves or something?
Lennon?
..
Everyone bar thiago looked shattered last 20 mins which is a concern. Today was better than Sunday but the front three have were off it an truth have been hit and miss this season. We need Thiago and Jota fit and firing ASAP.

What is this mentality monsters shit?
Klopp called them it after the Barca game. Then they believed their own hype and thought they'd do the same to Atletico last season.

imagine how much they'd hate Salah for diving if he didn't play them

talk about deluded

Wonder how they'd respond to PED claims given post covid they aren't half the time and are playing a different style?
That guy wrote an article pre season saying they wouldn't win it this year as their doping cycle was past it's limit, and wouldn't work with the packed schedule.
Said about 2/3of their squad are on steroid inhalers.

Made me chuckle.
Yeah I remember that, though I can't remember who, or if it was a post or thread. Incredibly detailed too. A high percentage of their players on prescription steroids (wasn't specific if it was inhaler or other form) due to being diagnosed with exercise induced asthma, plus high doses of caffeine.

Supposedly it takes it's toll and has to be stopped at some point, which was this season by the posters calculations.

To be honest it doesn't seem so far fetched now.

People still think City are their biggest challengers

City are not the City they used to be.

Don't rule it out. City have weaknesses again but they still have a squad packed full of quality. But it's United they're going to be competing with come the end of the season, not this shambles.

We're not winning the title.

Good man, I was worried we would there, you know being top and the best team and all that. I can relax now and enjoy the race between Everton and Utd
..
His substitution decisions were shite today. End of.

Go and reply to peoples post with shitty puns as usual.
...
It’s not very Christmassy in here.

Never has been
Not allowed to question anything after two shitty draws against two dogshit teams because if you do then your not a true supporter and should be banned from Anfield for life.
..
Done well to get a point. Nice bit of time wasting bringing on Shaq

Top of the league!
..
The players look knackered at the moment. Sadio’s been struggling for a few games and yet people keep banging on about Mo, who but for a fantastic save would have won us the game AGAIN.

Ending the year like we started it, top of the league. There’s a lot of football (hopefully) to be played this season yet and thankfully we’re getting most of our squad back.

Well it wasn't really a concern.

It was expected. You know.. because they are knackered.

Most other sides I've seen play around now have looked knackered at the end of games.
We played Sunday afternoon and then 8 days before that, can the players really be that knackered? I'm not so sure.
..
probably been discussed - but what was up with that substitution pattern?
we were chasing the game - Gini at 70? Thiago at 75? Shaq at 91??
I would have had Thiago come in first - then Ox and Shaq both much much earlier.
Very very odd subs.
..
What is notable is that because of a lack of preseason fitness, players coming back from injury are finding it harder to hit top form again...
It is what it is, but a good preseason would help everyone.
Agreed, that could certainly account for Trent's uneven form at the moment.
He’s also 22.
And human.
Shit happens. He will be fine. Look at the other fullbacks in the league.!
At the rate he is going, Wan-Bissaka will get an assist before him....kidding!
You are right though. He will find his form again. He was poor today, but we had the chances to win.
..
Our attackers have been excellent this season which is why we’re top scorers and have the best GD. None of them need singling out.....

....but to see people singling out Mo of all of them is absolutely staggering
You're absolutely right but batting your eyelashes at Barcelona and Real Madrid and giving everyone at the club an unwanted distraction from the football is always going to bring extra scrutiny. Any shit performance or sign of him looking uninterested will bring it on.

You’re literally the first person to even mention it

..
Mis firing forwards.
Curse of the 7-0 or Salah head turns?
And suddenly we have great league fight on.
Think Mo has lost that ability to go past people. Needs to be more of a team Player for me!
..

Why not go full 'Barca' and play Fabinho and Thiago as our centre backs?

I can see that happening in a few games because I don't think we will sign a CB in the window I think we'll go with what we have. If memory serves right he played the CL (semi final?) at centre half and absolutely cruised.
It's easy to say he's small and will be dominated aerially, but he wins a ridiculous amount of balls in the air and he wins the ball on the deck better than most.
I want to see that little genius in the middle because he runs the show but Klopp does like to find solutions with what he has.
It's just great to see him play tonight, that wanker Hayden was it tried to do him too, piss off with that
..
Can we start the United home match thread now.
As much as I’d rather be 10 points above them as we usually are at this point, there’s a part of my childhood that wants to see us twat these in a title race
.

I’ve been watching virtually every arsenal game this season. It’s been an absolute joy when watched with AFTV.

+1 for this. Wonder the proportion of rival fans that watch it... must be the majority.

Back on topic, it’s been a solid couple of days for RAWK. Is making the upcoming game between us incredibly important and tense (the amount of posts saying they haven’t played us yet, effectively adding 6 points to their total, is hilarious).

I’m not sure I have the nerves for the game... Will be so stressful!

Have been thinking this for a while. We may never find out but Mane does seem to have lost some of his superpower since he returned from Covid.
Who knew?
But you guys should try supporting some of the other teams.
They’re fecking shit.
Relax. We’re 15 games into the season. Come the middle of January, we might actually have a really strong squad to put out.
Hold your nerves. Stop acting like fannies. We’re really well placed.
..
1 goal against West Brom and Newcastle. Jesus wept, I’ve nearly just barfed at the through. Can’t quite get my head around it.
..
which one of you is this:
Klopp will be gone next season . He’s not happy here no more totally lost his passion and with COVID I think it’s really got to him. He’s a massive family man and not being able to freely travel I think he’s just about had enough with England.. anyway congrats to city or Utd on your prem league title .. today proved we r not good enough . Europa here we come

they are not happy with what you wrote
Didn't think I'd get a laugh tonight. What a tube
Back to your own clubs forum there’s a good fella
A typing dog. Now that's impressive.
Must do better. That’s not even subtle
He has a contract till 2024 with the quality and age profile of the squad there's no reason he'll go before then. Long way to go this season yet. I'd like us o run away it will still might but I will take staying the mix 5-10 games to go.
I mean you’re really shit at predictions
He lives near me and I see him around from time to time. Seems very happy but you must know.

Thiago played two games for them and in this league in general but they talk about him like he is best mc in the league.

They are about the same - Bruno has 26 goals and a "few" assists in 46 matches - Lallana has 22 goals in his last 191 matches.

More or less the same :)

Mate of a mate is a Liverpool fan. Chatting to him in the pub - in the summer before lockdown 2 - he said there wasn't a single united player that could get into the Pool starting 11, including Bruno. I laughed then, and continue to laugh now. Bruno is a genius, and you've got to be seriously deluded not to see that. He's single handedly turned us from top 4 outsiders to potential title challengers. The biggest impact of any player joining us since Cantona.

Its funny how they are getting hit by injuries now. They have been very, very lucky with injuries the past couple of seasons. Freakishly so.
It all evens out eventually.

Glad we didn't sign Thiago.

Told everyone he will be more injury prone in a physical league.

Yeah, to be honest I’d be surprised if they weren’t enhanced.

Can we start the United home match thread now.

They do know that they've won 1 PL title, right?

End of the year retrospect. RAWK posts from January 2020.

RAWKites must have the fecking gift of prophecy.

I think we should make predictions for the next two years on the first page.

a) United will spend another 300 million pounds combined the next two seasons, yet fail to finish in the CL places

a) United will spunk a load of money on 'up and coming' british players that turn out to be a bit shite
b) They will finish 6th....consistently
c) Pogba will attract another 10m instagram followers by showing a picture of Lingard's new haircut which shows his real age.....49

They'll pay over 50 million for that Fernandes fella and he'll be as bad as the dab lord's been for them

They'll finish 6th (shocking, I know)

They'll spend another 150 million in the summer and their fans will claim it's still not enough

They'll keep Ole till the end of next season out of pure stubbornness and their fanbase will tear itself apart

This Bruno Fernandes transfer is a symptom of that, half of them hadn't heard of him a month ago but in desperation have convinced themselves he's the must-have new toy and they MUST get him or else.
