They are not asking 100 million €. He‘s valued at about 50 mill £.
You really think anyone would buy a player for 100m with his recent history and who hasn't trained og played for nearly 2 years?

feck that, we need Amad
To do what, sit on the bench most of the season? Championship to Prem is a huge jump, the guy needs regular football at his age, bringing him back to be behind Rashford, Sancho, Garnacho and Antony in the winger pecking order (and probably one of Mount/Bruno with Eriksen coming in midfield) just doesn't make sense. Let him develop properly.

He looks pretty good on YouTube. We should get him, Onana and then Mount for pre season then start focusing on selling…then test Spurs’ resolve for Kane late in the window.

But we may need Amad ourselves this year, he is the second option on the right
Ahead of Sancho? I think Amad is only really needed this year if we don't have the options up front and Rashford has to play a lot through the middle, which Hojlund would make less likely although not fully resolve on his own.

Amad doesn’t compete with Rashford and Garnacho, he competes with Antony and Sancho. There are no reasons to believe he will be below Sancho in the pecking order on merit - the opposite is more probable.

He would’ve got plenty of minutes here last season if he had stayed, the same goes for this season. He’s one of our best players in possession, if we want to be a better team keeping hold of possession up the pitch it’s in our best interest to keep him. He’d give Antony a run for his money on the right and can play as a 10 in the right kind of fixtures.

Had a feeling they may want Amad, we defo need him this year. He’ll get more game time with us this year with it just being him and Antony for the right. Antony picks up a few injuries so it opens the path for him to shine.

If he isn’t behind Sancho we really should be looking to sell Sancho.

I think he’d be perfect to be part of this deal.

I think ten hag would rather play Garnacho or Rashford out of position than start amad. We'll see. But people are going overboard with a loan spell in the championship. There is a big jump to being at Man United. He is still tiny and it will still take him time to develop, and having him sit on the bench with limited minutes will be a waste.

Also, don't kid yourself, he is 100% behind Sancho and also Mount now.

I don’t think Amad would get many minutes here this year.
People said the same last summer, it turned out there was a lot of opportunities for him to play across the season. We had fecking Weghorst stinking the place up as a 10 and Bruno on the right, that says it all. It was a fantastic loan so it was definitely needed, but he’s earned his shot this season by turning into a Messi regen in the Championship.

You’re forgetting what he pulled off after 12 minutes in a Utd shirt, in possession there’s no doubt he can perform at the same level. His performance vs a strong Fulham side last year was a good indicator that the jump up won’t inhibit his ability.

There is pre-season to give him a shot and assess him. Otherwise, Atalanta would be a great loan for him.

You are assuming that if he had been at the club he would have been selected ahead of the other options. I don’t think he would have. And I don’t think he’ll get selected many times this year either.

I think he would have, but we’ll leave it at that.

Not sure about that, does he even have a position in Atalanta's formation? It's the same problem he had when he was there.

I thought he has improved a lot and Atalanta want to take him on loan. Surely they have a plan for him.

Garnacho got a lot of playing time last season being much younger and less experienced than Amad. If he performs, he can surely hope for Garnacho type minutes on the right - Antony with his playing style is efficient for like 70 minutes, so Amad may be an impact sub

We want Hojlund, they need a striker to replace him. We want rid of No.11 presumably and Hojlund wants to leave Atalanta as he has had a falling out with the manager. Valuation shouldn’t come into it.

Taking the obvious debate out of it, there is no chance he goes there permanently as they couldn't afford his wages.

I don't see why we loan Amad unless ETH gets a second forward option.

Our options on the right are awful. I suppose it depends on whether the manager sees Sancho or Fernandes on the right as good options. If he does then Amad does not get enough football.

But to me they're inferior options to Amad. I think he's the more dynamic, aggressive choice compared to those two. Also Antony is not untouchable. Needs to step it up big time.

Yeah. There is simply no way we would have done any worse last season with him on the right and Bruno at #10 instead of the situation that we actually found ourselves in with Weghorst.

The good thing is that the guy who picks the team has a chance to look at him, with rest of the squad, right now. If he has any plans to select him, he’ll stay at the club, surely.

True that.

He improved but they don't play with wingers, the only position available to him would be as an attacking midfielder. Amad's profile is quite different from the players who occupy that position for Atalanta.

This is what Barcelona are paying for Vitor Roque, 18, from the Brazilian league. But people expect us to pay 30mill tops for Hojlund, people need to be serious.

Antony wasn’t the most reliable player last season in terms of availability.
Not just availability. Antony wasn't reliable in anything. Amad can easily grab that spot if Ten Hag gives him a fair shot.

Agreed. I rate Antony and think he could still turn out to be a great player, but currently I see Amad as a bigger talent.

Exactly, he's actually played in a major league and a fully fledged international.

That says including add-ons which probably has a Balon d'Or clause or something included. I seriously doubt the up front fee is anywhere close to that. Vitor Roque also has 7 goals and 2 assists in just over 900 mins so far this season and is 2 years younger than Hojlund. The Brazilian league might not be as good as Serie A but it's still produced many top talents over the years including most recently Vinicius and Rodrygo. I haven't seen anyone suggesting £30m tops for Hojlund, most are saying £50m.

Given the reason we are moving him on, I don’t think he has any right to demand anything wages wise. Frankly, he should be grateful for the opportunity to resurrect his career instead of being given his P45 and sent down the job centre.

Total potential package means it includes the wages, too?

It frigging says totally package including add on

So it’s exactly what we have been negotiating. They want a figure of €80m which is ridiculous. €35-40m including addons taking it to €60m I think is fair.

This deal is pretty much a benchmark.
