Where’s the 38m for Hojlund coming from? I thought they wanted over 50 at least?
It’s on the previous page, doesn’t seem reliable though

50 at least? Do you mean euros?
I believe they were targeting up to 60m euros from most reliable sources

55M for Mount, 42M for Onana, and 38M for Hojlund, is not bad business.

Yea but I still think we would need at least one other striker and one more midfielder. Probably a backup CB too.

Of course this is assuming that we will sell Martial, McTominay, Fred and Maguire.

Great loan for either of the lads too if they can force their way in. I think Greenwood would be a monster for them if he’s the same player. He would be worth a fortune again by the end of next season.
Can’t see it, looks like united are trying to get 3 first 11 starters for hood business if we did Mount, Onana and Hojlund £140m that’s fantastic business and fits the narrative of £150m available without sales. These 3 also before the tour will help ETH to set up patterns of play,

Martial will stay to Xmas(wages), United will actually try and get a €2/3m Loan fee for MG, can see him at Roma or Juventus, Jose loves him. i think Amad stays as he can play number 8AM or RWS, pellistri on loan and he’ll stay just encase something happens with Sancho. I think we’ll be selling players throughout July and Early August to make way for a Marquee signing at end of the summer.

Squad 23/24

GK -
A Onana, M Kovar.and young GK*

Defenders - D Dalot, AWB, R Varanne, V Lindelof, H Maguire, L Martinez, L Shaw, T Malacia

Midfielder - Casemeiro, Bruno, S Mctominay, Ericssen, K Mainoo, M Mount

Attackers - Antony, J Sancho, A Dialo, M Rashford, R Hojlund, A Martial, A Garnaucho

With 3 new signings that’s a 25 man squad that’s still short of 2/3 World class players to Mount a serious challenge.

My theory is we do these 3 quickly and then wait we will probably get rid of Fred, DVB, Teles, Bailey and Tom Heaton wants to go and be Luton Number 1.

So we might see a back up young goalkeeper, a New young CB if Maguire goes which I think he won’t. Scott could leave as his wages are only 80k and Newcastle or WHU will pay him more then we might do more later but these 3 would be a fantastic start to the window.

Exactly what I was thinking

45m is well worth the money to bring in a top class young CF

that would be good business IF we still didn't need an experienced CF who we know will get us 15-20 goals a season and probably need another CM besides Mount. That money for Onana is at the expense of a field player that we badly need.

We literally do not have a goalkeeper right now.

If the 45 million is true, I‘d be happy with that. That is less than we overpaid for Martial.

If we don’t sell one of Maguire or Scott this summer we are incompetent.

I also think sending both Amad and Greenwood out on load would be stupid. One is fine, but ST and RW are our weakest forward positions we can’t afford to just loan out players for fun there.

If we can sign 1 player and wait before we sign more, I can see us getting a striker before a keeper.

I thought all the talk a bit back was them wanting 60 million for the player? Nice to see the price drop.

Whitwell saying we've spoke to Atalanta but he's saying we have been quoted 100 mill Euro's by them, again. Just can't believe they've quoted that price at all

Would prefer Kane or Osimhen but likely to be priced out of those.

Out of the other options, I'd definitely be happy enough if we got Hojlund. Especially if it's for the very reasonable price of £40-50m. Really hoping that link is more accurate than the ludicrously high fees others are reporting.

Seems too good to be true that we'd get a club giving us a perfectly valid transfer fee so early in negotiations. But if the £40m or so fee is accurate then we should definitely be looking to seal that deal. Can't see it though, unfortunately. I imagine they'll be playing hardball and looking for much more than that. But fingers crossed it's the former and we're able to bring in a good young striker for a reasonable fee.

Yeah, sadly I imagine that's more accurate - certainly the kind of crazy fee we're usually quoted by clubs.

I said above that I'd be happy with Hojlund as the #9 signing. But the fee is a factor in that. If we got him for a reasonable fee - £40, 50m - then he'd be a good signing fitting in with our budget. If we're being asked closer to £100m than £50m, then I think that's a huge outlay for a young striker with just one season for Sturm Graz and Atalanta on his CV.

He looks an exciting prospect, and has had a good start to his career. But don't think he's done anywhere near enough yet to justify the reported £80m fee.

Them quoting that fee suggests they don’t want to sell this summer.

If it gets done i'd imagine it would get done for closer to 60-70mill Euro's (bonuses included). He seems to be the name we are linked with most often these days so there seems to be a real interest, Hojlund really needs to push it on his end though if he wants it as badly as is claimed because he's worth nowhere near that and I don't blame us if we don't pay it, as much as I really want us to sign him.

To be honest, the stories coming out from the English media for this and Onana both seem like excuses to me rather than anything. Italian media coming out with wildly lower valuations than what the English guys are quoting, and to me it just looks like United doesn't want to spend. Also it's weird that we would pay up for Mount rather than a CF or GK, it's by far 3rd on the list.

All in all, my feeling is just that we're a bit incompetent still with transfer priorities, but also that they aren't letting us spend anything.
