When Højlund was at FC Copenhagen, he always could find the right position to score, but he missed every chance. He actually did not score a single goal in the domestic league. But in the Confrence League he scored 5 goals in 10 games. That's why it was a little confusing to follow him the first time. You could see that there was a talent. But he seemed to be a poor finisher. But that changed almost the moment he switched clubs to Sturm Graz.
It was a bit of a strange situation and I don't know if he just had to get used to being a senior player and FC Copenhagen lost patience too quickly. At the same time, there was good competition for the striker places in FC Copenhagen. So if Højlund did not succeed immediately, he could not count on playing. Especially not as a young talent who had yet to prove anything at senior level.
His development over the past year has been explosive and I hope it hasn't gone too fast for him. Because it is clear that there is great potential.
