I still cling to the fact that there is player lurking somewhere in there, but ffs he has been abject over the past few months.
Oh he's definitely a professional footballer. He's not a premier league level footballer though

Surely there has to be a referee with a higher xG trough a deflected shot or something than him this season.
Zero goal threat

Getting subbed out for an actual child is a new low.

That's going to be status quo now. Hojlund is in big trouble if Obi takes to his role, and takes his chance - that'll end in Hojlund being his understudy by April, at this rate

Only place he belongs is the transfer list.

Zirkzee should start games and Chido should be a regular sub.

I'm over giving him more chances. He has absolutely nothing special about him and is just so meek and weak. Never ever a Manchester united level striker. Not even as good as Igahlo

He’s been so bad but he was definitely not this bad last season, reckon his confidence is in bits and he’s not suited to our football at all. Think he’d have done all right on an Ole type team. Not going to cut it though, that’s for sure.

Headless Hojlund. Hojlund the hider. Many names for him. Starting striker for Man Utd is not one of them. Debatable whether you'd even have him on the bench. He offers nothing.

0/8 duels won today. Almost impressive for a 6'3 forward. He managed 1/9 last time out against Spurs.
  • Overall there isn't a SINGLE starting forward in the league with a lower duel wIn % this season.
  • He's 32nd out of 32 strikers (with more than 300 minutes played) in terms of aerial duel win %.
But maybe he's just not up for a physical battle. Surely he balances it out in other ways?

Nope.
  • He's averaging 1 dribble completed every 3 games. Not a mistype (also it's actually every 3.5 games)
  • He's averaging 0.71 expected assists. No, not per game. This season.
  • He has more unsuccessful touches per game than goals this season.

Can't really be quantified in stats but he also makes historically bad runs and is literally never in a position to receive forward passes.

Comfortably the worst forward to play for us in the modern era.

He's playing because there's been no one else. That's it. For some reason we bought him and for some reason the only other forward we've bought is more of a #10 than a #9 so he keeps on playing.

I'm not having that it's just the system that's at fault with him. He's just constantly in the wrong position. Being a world class no. 9 is as much about understanding where you need to position yourself on the pitch as it is technical ability or finishing.

Never seen a player so lacking in fundamentals.

Is over 6 ft 2 but can't play hold up, can't dribble, can't pass, can't make runs, can't anticipate where the ball will be, can't shake off his defender, has no change of pace, can't drop the shoulder, can't control the ball, doesn't shoot enough, can't make half a yard for himself.

Absolutely garbage.

If Lukaku was considered a flop for us in spite of scoring vastly more goals, what do we consider him?

Went from looking promising early in his tenure to looking worse than Wout fecking Weghorst right now.

He gets bullied off the ball far too easily for a lad his size (happens quite literally every time he has possession), has a worse first touch than Lukaku and does absolutely nothing positive on or off the ball...

He throws his hands up in frustration every match more than he has attempts on goal
I'd agree with this. When he first came in he was making runs and such. I said at the time he's not getting the ball and thus he's gonna stop making the runs. And of course now that he should be making the runs he's not because there isn't a consistency in terms of getting the ball towards the striker

Reckon he needs a loan or something. He shouldn't be a starter for us

Our scouts are criminals

Its like when people tried to convince themselves that Donny Van Der Beek was actually a top class footballer and him never being in the game was because his movement was too intelligent for his teammates, too advanced for the neanderthals he was playing with, that they were the problem and not him.

The eye test making him look incredibly average was clearly wrong.

People were joking about Maguire would contribute more playing as a striker, but I think it's not far from truth.

Just an awful player. He is not even PL level, let alone being good enough for us.

I'm telling you this guy is a different level of rubbish.

He offers nothing, he's up there as the worst signing in the clubs history.

That was just sad to watch. Zero quality and zero confidence. He was no world beater last season but he was much better than this. It's sad to see a young player regress so much in 1 year, he hardly looks like a football player these days.

His stats in general play were not much better last season but he had that run of goals that had people ignoring the rest. Pretty obvious from early on that he was a seriously limited all round footballer.

He's putting in consistent 1/10 performances at the moment. There is absolutely nothing about him, as a striker or as a footballer in general.

Completed 7 passes today in 70 mins, the worst of any player on the pitch. He also lost possession 3 times.

It's genuinely shocking how bad he is.

If we sign one more fecking big bodied player that can’t win a header I’m going to lose it. It’s literally effort and practice (and the needed athleticism which he has), jumping and heading a ball isn’t asking someone to do a fecking scorpion kick.

fecking joke

Put more crosses in people say, the guy has scored 1 header in his career from what I can see.

He really has nothing going for him right now.

2 goals in 20 league games is an awful return. You'd expect those sort of stats from a defender, not a fecking striker.
