that is for sure. Not many clubs can afford that kind of salary.I agree, Partey is going nowhere on £200k a week.

Let's hope the club are not fecking idiots on this. The proposed avenues should be:
- Stay here until your contract expires , if you play well, we'll make you an offer
- If you want to leave, go ahead.
I hope for the love of god they don't offer him an new contract.
I was the biggest Rashford fan going until about 2 years ago. I knew he wasnt the finished article but felt that if he kept improving he could be up there with the best.
Then some real inconsistency started but we still saw some good performances.
Now he is showing absolutely nothing in both performance and attitude. Anyone who thinks he can turn this around is deluded. History tells us that starlets who decline in their early twenties are done and NEVER bounce back to the level of player we need.
It would be a blessing for the club if he left though I honestly dont know who would pay his current wages and the transfer fee we would want. I could not see a Premier club paying more than 40 million for him.
I get the irrationality because you’re a fan but you can’t say to a player, stay till your contract expires then we’ll decide. You then find yourself in the situation we have with a Pogba, a disinterested player who’ll rock up somewhere next season & immediately look a better player than he has for us or he plays well whilst you’ve let the asset run his contract down so he can leave for free or bend the club over on terms.Let's hope the club are not fecking idiots on this. In terms of fighting for aerial balls maybe, but most of the criticism is based on his attitude and application of skill. These thing don’t really depend on injury. Is it the back injury that ruined him? A year and half ago, (19-20) he looked genuinely world class.
He never was but he believed/believes the hypeI think he needs to move on. He's not as good as he thinks he is.
"only"
Jesus.
I dont understand the linkage between those players you mentioned and Rashford? They all have elite ability on the ball and are some of the hardest working players in the league? If Liverpool and City can accommodate players like Sterling, Mane, Salah, Firmino, KDB, Jesus, Mahrez and Grealish, then I'm sure we can accommodate Rashford in a similarly dominant way whilst still sticking to the gegen press philosophy. The problem isn't his willingness to work, it's the lack of confidence, lack of squad quality around him and a poor working environment/atmosphere. If we can get a decent squad harmony again coupled with a Rashford who isn't playing through the pain barrier like last season every game then i think he cam easily rediscover his best for us.
Would be fantastic
Has been discussed in the Player Performance thread but felt worthy of its own thread.
For me this is an incredibly sad story of a good player who was promoted above his talent after his sparkling start with United. The state of the club at the time meant they needed (ideally an academy graduate) to hang their hat on and he came along at the perfect time for them. In more stable times he would have had his breakout, calmed down, and then be loaned out for a year or two to develop further and come back a more rounded player.
But the club needed him so he stayed. Many of us throughout the time questioned the sporadic nature of his form, asking if he really was the next big thing or a flash in the proverbial pan (remember the Rashford vs Mbappe debates?). I feel, defending him, that he has been hugely let down by the last manager. In various acts of desperation he was called upon for ridiculous amounts of football whilst injured. However I do also believe that he has to take a fair share of personal responsibility here. Yes he's been injured, yes he'd been played in to the ground, but that doesn't excuse the regularity with which his people go to the media to whinge and moan about all sorts of issues.
The tweet above is just the latest example of the issues with modern players, who potentially believe they're better than they actually are. He's scored 5 goals so far this season, he doesn't press or race back to defend like his manager wants, so what does he do when the manager drops him? Does he look internally and ask what he needs to do to get back in the team, does he change attitude or style of play, or work harder to make the point to the manager when he comes on as a 65th minute sub? NO! He starts walking around the pitch with his hands on his hips after 10mins, then runs to the press talking about how he might need to go somewhere he's guaranteed first team football!
I think it's another example of the thin skin attitude which is the true cancer within our dressing room. What are your thoughts?
Another one we've let go into the last yearFree agent next summer. His wages is an issue for many clubs though.
What other option is even there. If he doesn’t leave this summer then he will either leave on a free transfer in 2024 or we end up giving him a new contract.
What other option is even there.
Jamie Carragher has rightfully singled him out for his lack of application. He pointed out a time where all our players attempted to press and he just stood, allowing City to easily bypass it. He's effectively the laziest player we have now and the subs of him and JLingz were the nails in the coffin.
He should leave for everyone's sake
Having a bad run of form for a while but from a young age he was better for us in his favoured position than Martial or Depay so I don’t know where you get this loan stuff from?
I wouldn’t pay too much attention to a post that has ‘source close to Man Utd forward tell me’ in it
He is because even in Sir Alex’s days apart from the obvious class we didn’t have that many incredible youth prospects. If you mean ever since Sir Alex retired, otherwise he's nowhere near it.
All true but it's irrelevant when discussing his future at United and if he continues to underperform then amicable parting in the Summer should suit both the parties .He is because even in Sir Alex’s days apart from the obvious class we didn’t have that many incredible youth prospects.
Rashford is up there with all but the most esteemed title winners. Plus off the field the man has been a giant.
So much respect for him as a person and he will be remembered fondly no matter if he leaves or stays.
Yikes. No it won’t be. Typical way of thinking like those clueless twats at united in charge. What value do you put on Son ? 70m ? 80m ? Who will be 30 yrs in July this summer. So you want us to do the same mistake which we have been doing for the last 10 yrs ? Right from Woodward’s book.Seriously. Rashford + 30 for Son would be brilliant
