Raphael Varane | Signed for United!

That will result in another drawn out saga that is closed near deadline day.

Depends how badly we want this done before start of the season.

If we are spending 50 million on a 28 year old CB who will have no resale value after this contract, it means only one thing that we are going for the title this year. If we are smart (and I believe we have become smarter) we would rather get him for pre-season rather than wait for the last deadline day.

This is so fecking done. The only thing left for it to be more done is when it’s actually done. It’s definitely done at this point though.
Where did you hear that? Who told you?
I just read some posts, people saying there's a red flag.
What's going on. Mind elaborating?

Its a competition between @Judas and @Pexbo to be muppet in chief for this particular transfer. Let's see who wins by the time Varane signs.

Personally I don’t see this one happening.

The Spanish media, like their football commentators, are going mental on it. But the genuine English media who’ll have Uniteds side are a lot more cagey, more “United are interested but cautious”

When a transfer saga is pushed to “almost done” status by their side and “monitoring” on our side it usually means disappointment for muppets.

De Ligt is a recent example.

Using us for an improved contract is he? Fecker has done us again

That’s just the difference between the two lots of media (Star aside).

It's annoying how 'the next few hours' in Twitter world can actually mean days rather than ya know 3 hours time

He'll be starting for us in a month and there will still be people saying he's just using us to get a new contract from Madrid.

I'd just love the club to announce his signing, with him running onto the pitch at Old trafford waving a MASSIVE red flag....camera pulls back to reveal the Stretford End full of officials, staff and youth players all waving red flags too!

And when United are involved, days means weeks.

Hopefully done by christmas!

It’s not optimal to get him after pre-season, but this season starts with fairly easy matches that would give him some soft honeymoon time. Then after the first 5-6 games we have 4-5 top teams in a row if I remember correctly.

Varane’s transfer to United will be in the Top 5, in fact only 4 will surpass it.

I assume that it will also see it make the Top ten, in fact surpassing 5 others.
