And how is that seen as a bad thing? Alaba is getting insane amount of money at the same club. Why should Varane accept lower salary?
It can be about money and desire to try something new at the same time. We all move in our job if we can earn more somewhere else
Exactly the same could happen at United if Varane comes in with a much higher salary than Bruno or Maguire. That’s always the risk.

Make it even easier and just send them Dalot on loan to get the fee reasonable enough for both parties and get the deal over the line

Why? Neither Bruno nor Maguire have anything close to the CV Varane has.
If the enormous difference in salary is based on enourmous difference in performance and impact at United, then I don’t think there would be a problem. If it is only based on what his old club accomplished, yes then there might be a problem. Alaba seems to have stirred up things at Real in that aspect.

2 Pumas together. They already built relationships secretly.

We were already paying 375k for DDG when we signed Bruno or Maguire. Why it should matter now? We are paying high salary for Maguire and we are in negotiations with Bruno. Players will value what kind of salary they can get somewhere else and then make a decision. If Bruno think someone can pay him higher salary than us, then he will be absolutely right to move on. Just so it turns out that we actually pay top dollars for players. Its just that we have in recent past wasted it on poor players.

Give it a rest - he is fond of himself but he is not a fraud. He is really well connected.
Is he really going to be one of the first to get information on Varane to united though?

I think most media types know United’s name brings attention and use it to their advantage. We’ve had the same story about Varane for ages now. Nothing has changed but guys still keeping on.
Who is this guy?

Also, what's with the 'moons'?
this guy is a total eclipse so nothing to get excited about

Itsbeen the same regurgitated stuff over the past few days. Nothing new and exciting.

Only next possible exciting news can be that a fee has been agreed between United and Real.

We've reached the height of the, "preparing a bid" stage where it feels like this has been dragging on for a decade rather than a few weeks.

Definitely happening...unless something stops it happening.
Like a new contract or not agreeing a fee. Those tiny aspects .

By all accounts he hasn't accepted any of their offers and they're not in position to spending too much given their ambitions next summer.

Madrid media already announced that they won't even be making any other summer signings this window and that they're actively looking to shed wages by selling and sending players out on loan

Some on here are so mentally scarred from the past they can't even allow themselves to enjoy a very muppety muppet signing. Sad really.
The great Muppet depression. We need a 'bid confirmed' tweet from a top moon source to strengthen the weaker ones.

Beta energy. Hate it. You’ve got to be 100% invested in every link, or else what’s the point? The muppet train is 24/7, 365.

Do you think that Alaba has won more than Varane? I don't, hence why Varane likely has a problem with being paid less. Sure he has a lot of Bundesliga titles but that's not hard to do at Bayern.

I doubt that Bruno or Maguire would disagree that a player who has won a world cup, three La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues might command a higher salary than they do.

Indeed, one could probably distill all of this down to CL titles won.
