Yeah I agree with this. He seems to control the whole backline and constantly gives orders to the others. Could be our new captain to be honest.

If he could stay fit, I'd make him captain. Clearly a leader. The added responsibility will raise his game too i feel.

Always thought he has been a little over rated individually as a centre back....dotn get me wrong he is a top centre back, but he does have weaknesses and lapses.

The netflix documentary on him was superb, he comes across as calm, a real professional, leader and with complete respects of all around the Madrid dressing room.

I think he would be a good option as a captain too....but the injury problems are a concern if your captain is on the treatment table a lot....not that it hindered Bryan RObson to be fair

He started last season like this, his performance was good. Then he was injured a lot, finsihed season poorly in last few games and somehow many concluded he had poor season.

His problem was injuries, not ability or his performance (except few games).
