Rangnick presser v Norwich (A) 12:30 GMT | goes in-depth on Phelan's role

Perhaps he will leave, perhaps he should leave.

But the people who want him out because he's "stealing a living" have very little knowledge about what his job actually entails - and in general no clue about how to run a huge football club.

We're at a stage where idiotic fans interpret every word out of Ralf's mouth as evidence that he "agrees" with them regarding individual players or staff members.
Yes agreed.

Going forward I'm not sure De Gea due to his insistence of remaining on his line or Maguire due to his lack of pace are the right players if RR decides to play a high line in the long term. Even Ronaldo could end up moving at the end of the season.
Hummel's is one of histories great high line defenders. Slow as hell. If you execute the press well then the ball players of the opposition don't have time to pick that pass in behind. Then we can get the best of out Maguire's good points - elite in the air, excellent passer to get counters going. I think he will do well. I'd say that lindelof and varane is stiff competition though. Lindelof has really come on

De Gea was in bad form and was prone to costly mistakes when he was given a costly contract. He was still capable of great saves. However, United needed to get rid especially when we had a young keeper in Henderson waiting to take over. I hardly think any other club would have offered anywhere near the salary would have been virtually impossible due to the impact of the pandemic. Had Henderson not worked out they could have easily gone on to sign another keeper.
I don't think many on the forum were saying that at the time. They said they were happy that our best player over the prior five years was talked about of moving. They don't always work out, but you with the info you have at the time

Yet Hummels always needed someone fast to bail him out if such a pass was played (like Jerome Boateng at Bayern/for the national team). Otherwise exactly this weaknesses are exposed.

Combining it with his comments about Pogba - I am inclined to suggest that he is trying to influence the players/staff/board this way and trigger responses/changes. Like Jose did, but not Jose in a toxic way. And I think it is perfectly fine.

I actually don't think that's perfectly fine.

If he's hired to bring about changes, he shouldn't have to tiptoe around the issues, trying to trigger anything by dropping hints in pressers.

To be clear I'm not saying that's what's happening - on the contrary, I'm more inclined to believe that he does have the authority to bring about changes. In other words, he isn't dropping hints about Phelan - he's just answering a question (will Armas replace Phelan? No he won't, 'cause they don't do the same job). People are reading far too much into it.

He probably also wants all hands on deck, as it were - given the situation: new regime, big job ahead, even if players can't play or even train, they can still benefit from being around. Rangnick has apparently spent a fair amount of time using video examples in order to educate the team - which is something you can participate in regardless of your injury status.

Pogba: But we’ve got Zoom and Webex!

I never understood why this was allowed to begin with but if it is was, if I was pogba, and had any intention of staying here, the second ole is fired and Ralf is announced, I'm flying home to be here and to be around the building, around the manager and let him know I'm here to play and do well.
You have no idea what he was doing in Dubai at that point and if he could leave immediately?
