Ralf Rangnick | ex-interim manager | does anyone rate him?

Talk of earpieces in this game. Pressing has been better but we haven't been coached what to do with the ball.

Players look so uncomfortable pressing and has no idea about how to pass when pressed.
Ragnick has got a job on hand and I guess there will be some casualties of players do not adapt to his demands.

Good thing is he is from the outside and will know already what to do and what is wrong with our play. Can't start soon enough. We are absolutely woeful.

It's going to take a long time though if we are going to play the way he wants to as we are nowhere near fit enough at present.

He is going to need a plan b

He has a massive job on his hands, the quality of football which we've served for last 3 months has been brutal to watch.

No idea, how so many of our players feck up even simplest of things. xG of 0.02 in that first half, just wow.

Average position, how is this even possible with this much talent at this level?

It boggles mind when one thinks how we have/had totally inexperienced people on the coaching staff, "learning on the job" and in the process costing us. No other big club in the world would have allowed this kind of nonsense for this long.

Gosh he must look at the midfielders + Rashford and wonder how the feck they have a big reputation. The simple stuff of first touch, a 5 yard pass, not taking too many touches. They need a lot of work

This is what happens after 3 years of leaving the players on their own, we've wasted years of not developing this team technically and tactically.

The progress of football teams has never been about just adding supposedly good players with no plan and yes we're in a worse position than 2018.

Before him Carrick was the one wearing an ear piece. He’s been doing it all season.
Do they have someone sitting in the stands? Some coaching teams usually do that, as you have a better view of what is going on sitting high up instead of the bench.

But progress and Ole has done a fantastic job, thank you Ole.

Notice how fast Chelsea win the ball back versus Utd because they press. It's how they have 70% possession. Utd stand still when Chelsea get the ball, they defend like a mid/lower table team. They run back to form a low block instead of trying to press in 2-3s to force a wayward pass and turnover in midfield like Chelsea. When you press high, you can start attacking nearer to the goal. Chelsea could be 2 goals up but their attack really isn't firing on all cylinders.

Utd rely on individual defensive actions of their expensive backline but not cohesive organisation and teamwork to press as a unit to defend. If Rangnick is watching he will be quite annoyed to realise the scale of the task, it's not easy to implement pressing schemes in the middle of a season without a break. At BVB Klopp needed a full preseason, when he first arrived at LFC it took time to implement his system as well. Rangnick isn't as good a coach as Klopp who's more possession-oriented so Utd fans can expect early Klopp results but worse, imo.
We’re pressing better than normal.

If he were to stay on beyond the summer, or we appoint a manager with a very similar philosophy and demands, the World Cup could actually be quite a blessing for us, with them afforded loads of time to work with all the players not going, especially the younger players.

Got a big job to do. Miles between the two teams tactical wise. Chelsea seemed to have football magnets on the boots because the ball would always find them.

Has a huge mess to sort out. Thanks Ole. Hope he will and I hope the time given to him will be enough.

Whats with all these posts? You'd think we'd just got battered.

We rode our luck to scrape a point, there is huge work to be done.

1 win in 8 in PL, players messing up simplest of aspects of football. Our quality of football still as poor as ever. He has an enormous task on his hands.

Hope this is announced soon, hes coming in at a time of decent fixtures and although we're a terrible side there's a good team spirit. Think he can hit ground running

I think most of his work will be well done when he has instilled some belief and confidence in this shattered squad

I think people will be surprised by how much we improve in a short period of time under RR. We have some very talented players that at present look aimless and clueless-some discipline and structure will hopefully make all the difference!

Did we? What did Chelsea create?

We're already showing some tactical improvements and that's in just a few days with a couple of rookies in control. It's not going to be a quick fix but the levels of misery on here is so boring.

We’re not. The difference is that we’ve made no attempt to play football in light of how bad performances had become. The performances have been terrible all season and the last two games fit neatly into that box.

We are desperate for him to come in and coach the players a bit... its fecking embarrassing how clueless we look, with the players we have.

Chelsea were completely dominant in the game. Please don’t this to yourself, don’t kid on we were a match for them in general play because we weren’t. This will be shown in time when Rangnick has us looking miles above what we showed today.

We have got 2 good results but there really isn't any improvement in performances. Today could have easily ended 4-0.
