Pipe up in the Stretty next Thursday and I will join in!

He has a big thing about never passing sideways, or being a complete and total gowl with the ball at your feet. Maguire tends to gowl around a lot and does a lot of sideways/backwards passing. Also, Maguire slow AF. Refrigerators aren't good at playing a high line.
He's not if he can find some form very quickly.Doesn't he love a high press, high back line? If so, Maguire is in trouble.
He passes forward more than any of our other CBs though. He hasn't been as good at that this season, but in general that's one of his better attributes.

Bringing the ball out occasionally doesn't necessarily make him a good or efficient passer though. Lindelof is much stronger in that regardHe passes forward more than any of our other CBs though. He hasn't been as good at that this season, but in general that's one of his better attributes.

In the video where he talks about his philosophy he actually said defenders don't need to be fast, they just need to coached in tight marking.
A very exciting appointment - can't wait to see what he can do with this squad. The likes of Sancho, Bruno and Rashford will do well for him I think. I am also delighted for Donny as I think he'll actually get a run in the team now. Rangnick seems to value technical players who are good on the ball so he'd fit that system. He could be like a new player for us. I am still concerned that we lack a decent CDM who could play beside him in the midfield. Maybe a Fred-Donny midfield two could be the way forward?
He explained in his video he doesnt mind slow CBs. His CB is expected to man mark the opposition attacker tightly. Whether Maguire can do that job our not is another storyI have seen a few poaters say maguire won't suit him, why? Surely cbs are the least effected by his style of football.
I can't see him and Ronaldo getting along.
Will Ronaldo accept a fringe role?
I agree Lindelof is in better form right now and if Varane gets fit Maguire will have to work really hard if he wants to stay in the starting 11.Can't say I can really remember Maguire doing that well, even when in form.
He's your classic English hardy defender playing for a coach who is a world away from that. Lindelof and Varane seem well suited to Rangnick.
Had not any success ? He bought a village team to Bundesliga. Imagine a manager/DoF taking Salford City to Premier League. That is just one example of his achievement.Underwhelming. The only thing to hope for is that his reputation holds some water (style of play, influencing the clowns upstairs from a footballing perspective) and he is actually useful for us in that 2-year tenure as a 'consultant', whatever that means. People getting excited over a relative nobody manager who has not had any success at the highest levels is quite amusing. This guy reminds me of Bielsa, where they preach a bunch but haven't really turned that into any sort of success on the pitch in the last 15 years. Praying we have a solid plan for a 'real' elite manager come summer. Still, guess anything is better than Ole at this point.
McDonny could work I suppose
One of my mates is a German who frequently corrects us on our Scottish slang, and he does it in the most German way possible.Volkswagen Beatle
Also him saying underwhelming is a bit odd. You can’t ask for a better interim manager than RalfHad not any success ? He bought a village team to Bundesliga. Imagine a manager/DoF taking Salford City to Premier League. That is just one example of his achievement.
No chance he gets a fringe role
Brilliant news, followed him for a long time and no doubt his influence and style of play can be seen in the modern game.
Hopefully the coaches are shown the door.
Gotta love Zee Germans always technical as hell. They'll make making a sandwich sound like engineering at it's finest. One of my mates is a German who frequently corrects us on our Scottish slang, and he does it in the most German way possible.
"No, you must say 'gizza sniff of yer fanny' not 'your fanny' otherwise it doesn't sound as humorous, therefore preventing the joke from being as effective. Ye daft cnut." as his Scottish wife looks on and wonders what kind of robotic monster she's created.
fecking love Germans. Once they get passionate about something they're the best kind of folk to learn from about the topic. Until they drink too much whisky and tell you that the paintings in your hallway ruin the overall ambience. Suddenly they get very serious and you decide that your only options are to either give them more beer or run.
Ronaldo is Ronaldo. I fail to see why Ragnick would be as rigid as to drop him just because he doesn't press like a mad animal. It's also not really a problem if your main goalscorer doesn't press. Salah and Mane aren't the biggest pressers around and Lukaku certainly doesn't press. All Ronaldo needs to do is cut the passing lanes to their defenders and just let him do his thing.I can't see him and Ronaldo getting along.

Look at this man. He knows his business. We will look lime a new team in the New Year. It is not all about who wants it more, desire and passion. Tactics are not overrated. It is about both brainwork and footwork being in sync.
Salah and Mane aren't the biggest pressers around
The best thing that can be said about this is that is not like United all over the past few years to appoint someone like this.
Definitely pleased with Rangnick sticking around for 2 years afterwards for some continuity too, as I thought the idea of bringing in someone for 6 months only to wave goodbye and scrap everything they've been doing was daft. Still think we'll go for Poch personally (could be Ten Haag of course) but hopefully he'll take forward the same ideas.

Salah and Mane are average pressers, they'll press but they're nothing spectacular. Lukaku doesn't press at all. I'm also pleasantly surprised by Ronaldo - in the past few matches he has tracked back a lot.I'm really not sure this is true at all. They press quite a lot don't they? Ronaldo wouldn't press at all was my working assumption, though he did quite a lot against VillaReal so wtf do I know.
Lukaku I don't know. Anyone here watch Chelsea much?
I don't know. Chelsea have been dominant with and without Lukaku so far.Not comparing lukaku to Ronaldo but Chelsea’s best performances this season have been without him.
Rangnick made this exact point about Salah and Mane being 'natural ball winners' and it's the job of the coach to teach them. They do it now of course because they see the effectI'm really not sure this is true at all. They press quite a lot don't they? Maguire out of form is still a much better defender than Lindelof, who's only good for his long balls to Rashford.I agree Lindelof is in better form right now and if Varane gets fit Maguire will have to work really hard if he wants to stay in the starting 11.
The Glazers must be pissing their pants at the thought of him turning us into some machine that buys and sells players for profit.
Well, at least this season that's just not true imo. Maguire is in horrible form.Maguire out of form is still a much better defender than Lindelof, who's only good for his long balls to Rashford.
The United of old signed LvG and Mourinho.I share the sentiment. The United of old would have paid Leicester to take Rodgers or stick with Carrick until end of season.
I'll attribute this change to Murtough and Fletcher. Having someone other than Woodward making decisions is progress.
