Ralf Rangnick | ex-interim manager | does anyone rate him?

With the outgoings last month, plus the departures of Pogba, Lingard, Matic, (potentially Ronaldo/Cavani) in the summer, I don't think you can just use previous managers/squads to compare anymore. It is a total restart in my view.

Ralf is doing ok/fine with his brief, top 4 is still a possibility (not that I care about the race for top 4 in anyway) and he has at least installed a structure which every member of the team needs to fit into.

Other than that I don't know what fans expect given the last 10 years.

it’s been 10 years already?! :(

I believe we will get top 4 under Ralf. The terrible finishing and lack of rub of the green we have under him cannot possibly continue. We are actually not getting the good results we deserve. I rather feel hard done than embarassed.

We've actually played our best football of the season over the last few games IMO. Had our strikers remembered how to finish and we weren't at the receiving end of back to back dubious VAR decisions then Ralf would be getting heaps of praise for having us turn a corner.

I for one am not knocking Rangnick. Our biggest problem is a lot of our players are not good enough for United and the players that are good enough are not trying enough. We have weak players in many areas of the team and they are letting us down most games. Then you see others when the head goes down and they just don't bother. No matter who the manager is, this will happen until we change them, which will cost a lot of money.
I have seen teams right up from 1959 some good some bad but some of the players we have now wouldn't get near most of those teams.
Especially with the attitude a lot of them appear to have. It just wouldn't have been accepted in the past.

I thought Ralf and Ralph ended on not so good terms at Leipzig. I wouldn't mind some animosity to get into the match. A physical contest United can easily win. Let loose the McFred on them.

I think it's an especially dick move to fault Ralf for the last result knowing he would never under any circumstance buy a CB that struggles in a high line. That's the transfer of the last manager affecting the results of his successors. I hope they get enough backing if they decide to sell anyone but I'm not too optimistic. Some of the people behind those transfers are still at the club and would need to admit they got it wrong and it's not just the manager who isn't using them right. That captain's armband was such an unnecessary double down. Does anyone else think he would never have gotten it if he was asked to actually earn it?

For what it's worth, we're the third best team in the league since Ralf took over on the 2nd of December. 18 points from a possible 27 in that time. Only behind City and Liverpool.

Always deflecting blame with this group of players.

Is it the coaching why we've had something like 60 shots in our last two games and scored only two goals? The coaching sessions made us create and miss seven big chances against Boro?

So sick of this, the players are pathetic if reports coming out to say they don’t like RR methods, here’s a bright idea…coach your bloody selves, see how you get on. Bet it doesn’t end well

Here we go again, journalists claiming they know. The only information they are getting is from Lingard.

Rangnick wants to play high intensity, which is actually what modern teams play but the training is old fashioned.

Ole and his coaches was school boy coaching.

What a group of players we have, pathetic.

These briefs from players happen every time we don't win games. It's almost like they don't like to take on any responsibility for their shite performances and try and blame management. Spineless.

Thing is with players they think they know it all. I won the CL with Scunthorpe United on Football Manager so there attitude. The ones taking their badges will think they know it all. Well you know what, you won't know until you actually become a coach or a manager. Then you might realise it isn't that simple, especially if you have a squad of players who think they know it all.

Fully backing Ralf and hoping that the next manager is ten Hag, anything but and this trend with these players will continue.

The only player I see in a positive light anymore is de Gea because of his loyalty towards the club (don't care how much he's being paid), the rest can get fecked.

The opposition has been appalling though. Not blaming Ragnick at all, I agree with the general sentiment that our players are a bunch of useless, over paid, whiners. But the fact is that we’ve barely improved. If we were to play Liverpool tomorrow it would not be pretty. (Maybe 3-0 instead of 5, at home).

You only improve if the players want to improve. Think some are trying, especially the ones who have been given a chance by Ralf. Others do not have the attributes or intelligence to play high intensity football. You have to be a team player, not be selfish. You have to be concentrating all the time, too many switch off.

The coaching is responsible the players can't hit the broadside of a barn, retain the ball when the other team as much as breathes on them, or make forward passes? You know, the basics. Right.

I wish we could sell most of this squad this summer. Low quality all around. I can't believe this is what has become of this club.

Lets hope that happens and we do not hand out renewals to players who frankly don't deserve it.

It's really confusing who we have been handing out contracts and extensions to over the last decade. It's a mess. Yes, the coaching needs looking at, but this is an even bigger area that needs addressing. I also don't like how vocal and entitled some of our players have come across. Win something first, then act like a Billy Big Bollocks after. All I'm seeing is the fans losing sympathy and empathy for these players, who aren't doing enough to earn it.

Just a rubbish story. Press probably got wind of the "Ted Lasso" banter and then attached the unhappiness" element. Truth is Utd are improving and are creating more than enough chances to beat teams.

Its actually worrying that the players are looking at the coach when its them who are the issue.

Is the coach meant to tell you how to defend? I mean Maguire, Shaw are awful this season. The coach works on shape and making sure but when players move the way the are at the moment, no matter what the coaching is like, its not going to improve.

Bruno missing sitters, Ronaldo and Rashford shooting from everywhere, I guess the coach is using a joy stick to control them in game.

This is probably the only club in Europe run like a kindergarten. Players come in and discover that there is no structure to ensure continuity of values, ethics and expected effort required of any Manchester United team from senior team to the kids. However, we are awash with money but clueless. If I worked for such a company, I probably will ridicule them in front of family and friends and there'll be no surprise when it makes it to the news.

I think its Maguire because whenever he has a bad game, these leaks come out.

It's just the press bored and making up stories. United are an easy dig at the moment and they know what generates clicks. No idea why everybody laps it up.

You wish one of the journalist would ask Ralf about this, then I hope Ralf would say ' I hope if any of the players are unhappy with a the training they would have the courage to come and speak to me about it'.
