Dudes worked with guardiola and ten hag.
Also spoilers?
Hmm....I think many don't really know what a consultancy position means.
I have been a business consultant for many years. You are hired to identify issues, come with solutions and convince the decision makers to implement them.
However, you don't have any power to force decisions or to implement your ideas, if the board doesn't want. As you the word says you are consulting but aren't actually managing and taking decisions.
Knowing Rangnick's strive to total control and power, I'm quite surprised Rangnick agreed to just a consulting role.
Otherwise this is very exciting appointment.
Love this!Ralf Rangnick had influenced the likes of Klopp, Tuchel, Nagelsmann but most importantly Stephen Hawson of Paddock FC.
You said that we're judging the club based on what happened 5 years ago when we were judging based on them still pulling out such stupid decision 5 months ago.
Are you part of the clubs pr department?
They sacked Ole weeks later than they should have and according to articles in the athletic made no attempt to find a replacement during the international break, in the blind hope that he could turn things around
They also renewed the contracts of several of the coaching team just a few weeks ago and mike phelans contract being extended was reportedly part of the club showing their commitment to ole
Yes Varane and Sancho were seemingly good signings but the once again we neglected central midfield and seemingly passed up the chance to raise funds for these areas by refusing to sell lingard and / or pogba for realistic amounts.
The idea that the running of the club is getting better is ridiculous. This appointment seems positive but it will take a lot more to convince me that the club is now on the right track. He is currently only due to be a consultant post his interim period so ed / richard arnold could easily ignore his advice and almost every key role in the club is still taken up by a novice
.
I'm happy mate, and hope to see a Man Utd team that will make us all proud.
In the autumn of 2019, United’s football director John Murtough travelled to Leipzig to study the Red Bull football group’s facilities and corporate strategy. A proud Rangnick, eager to show off a Champions League club he had essentially built himself, hosted Murtough for eight hours, at the end of which the German sensed that the real reason for the visit might have been him. His suspicion that he had been sounded out was strengthened when he got word that an unnamed club was conducting background research into his working methods, tapping into his mentor Helmut Gross, a trained structural engineer turned tactical maverick, and Lars Kornetka, a long-time Rangnick collaborator, for insight into his footballing beliefs and his character.
This should have been done after the Liverpool game but it is what it is, at least it's a good first step from a board that has been absolutely diabolical since Sir Alex left.
I hope the 2 year role he is supposedly getting is not just for show but an actual important one. We need someone with the understanding of the game like him to give advice and have a say on crucial decisions like transfers and managers in etc.
Exactly. He worked well with Raul at Schalke. They could not believe their luck that a legend of Real Madrid came to their club (albeit because he became to old to startfor Real), so Raul had at least a similarly special status there as Ronaldo has today at United.
Just a bit annoying that he will barely have any time to train the players seeing as it will be a huge change of styles during a very busy time. Shame he didn't get the international break to train the squad and implement his style a bit more.
Just hope he can get enough training time to smash Arsenal next week.
I didn’t realise i was going back and fourth in that post? Still don’t see it??
I think this is a really really smart appointment and actually much more concerning for us Rival fans, regardless to his managerial honours, his style and attitude is exactly what United need.
This is a very smart unexpected move
I hope you are right but as of now we have no clue if he has even been given that role or not. Nothing seems official yet so I hope it's not just media BS.He wouldn't have taken it if it wasn't a genuine role by all accounts.
He rejected Chelsea as they wanted him short term. He's a project man.
Not sure you are serious about the first point. He coached mainly midtable/newly promoted/lower league sides and mostly outperformed expectations. He promoted Ulm for the first time in history, promoted Hoffenheim multiple times, promoted Leipzig, was second with Schalke etc etc.
I hope you are right but as of now we have no clue if he has even been given that role or not. Nothing seems official yet so I hope it's not just media BS.
It’s his way or the high way which the United dressing room needs
Those players that have been rolling in late and players that just haven’t been putting in enough effort (most of them) are about to get a rough shock.
I understand Ralf is the moderniser of the German pressing style football…..that’s all great….but what has he won with his management??
Saying that, bizarrely I think his no nonsense approach is probably just as important at this stage for this United team. It could be a real smart move from the legend that is Ed Woodward
Sounds good to me!He's basically considered to be the grandfather of the modern German coaches like Klopp or Nagelsmann. One of the pioneering advocates of high pressing as used today in football.
