He talks the talk, but thats it.
Was completely under his spell from the first few days and that 1st half against Palace. I don't think any one manager would walk into OT and have this team playing well from the get go. Maybe not ever. There are loads of issues with this side. But Rangnick has not done anything to help himself either.
We had the opportunity to hire a genuine world class big club manager in conte but supposedly his winning mentality didn't suit our club who is happy with mediocrity
We are arguably worse than we were before his arrival which is some achievement. Early days though.

I am confused. What we have been showing is not what he has been talking about. This is plain crap.
It sums up the state of our support when a rookie was supported for 2 years and yet one of the most respected men in football is being called crap after barely 2 months.

He's never built a great team and seems unable to implement his style, building for the future playing Matic, Cavani, Ronaldo ++ every game. I bought into all his fancy words before joining as well, but he's really shown nothing so far.

This is just tragic; the formation, the starters, the subs etc etc. Why not start with young players from the academy, to see if they get bothered with wearing the United-jersey, instead of these overpaid primadonnas.

I like how he talks but little evidence on the pitch so far.

I haven't seen any indications that things have got better. Is that too harsh? I look at Spurs under Conte and see an improvement, so why not here?
This group of players are a lost cause and most of them have proven it over several seasons

The damage was done years before RR came in. This is the result of sticking with a manager that was completely pretending to be one, for three years.
Talks a big game but is not up to it so far. He was supposed to steady the sheep but we are being outplayed by everyone just like under Ole.

These players have a lot to answer for but it's quite obvious Rangnick is a fraud. Only we would get an interim that hasn't managed recently and plays an obscure formation that has never proven to be successful. Won absolutely feck all too.

If there's a question to ask about Rangnick, it's whether he was the best choice for the interim role given he needed to fundamentally change the way we play.
But the upside to justify that was always going to be his influence in the longer run, based on the longer consultancy role he has and the fact that his style of play will invariably be closer to that of any top level manager we hire than Solskjaer's was, so progress in that direction leaves the team in a better position for the next manager. To a certain extent you're trading the short term for the medium term.
But at the end of the day he's still a manager who wouldn't be considered good enough for us in a full time role who we hired because we needed an emergency interim appointment due to prior incompetence on our part. You're not really entitled to good results when you handle things that badly.

I’m starting to think Rangnick was sent in by Klopp and Tuchel to finish us off, surely no coach in the world would think a 4-2-2-2 formation with defensive full backs and two 6’s in front even though only one is actually 6 followed by two wide players playing as dual 10’s whilst our actual 10 is on the bench is a good idea ?

We can blame the ownership, but half of CAF seemed to agree with both decisions.
That's an insult Hodgson, at least his teams look organised albeit unambitious.
This guy looks way, way, way out of depth and his 4-2-2-2 formation doesn't suit any of our players. Ronaldo, Cavani and Greenwood are far better playing up top on their own, Rashford and Sancho are better as a part of a front 3 and none of our midfield are suited to playing as a 2 man midfield.
Not on what I've seen but it was always the players anyway. More are realising it now.

The players have been shite as well. But this is crap and it is getting worse.
