As unlikely as it sounds, if we finish above Liverpool we should see what sort of fee they'd be after for him.

Would never happen though.

Waiting to see if they get Top 4 which will in turn give them money to invest. It'll hurt them if they don't get it.

If a team shows interest in the summer then he's gone, Liverpool cant afford to let him leave for free with only a year remaining on his contract.

The thought of losing Suarez, Gerrard and Sterling within 12 months must suck for them

The Express article is much more reliable and from a much better journalist.

He says contract talks will be postponed until the summer and Sterling is expected to be seeking somewhere around what Sturridge is earning (150). He says there's a similar situation with Henderson too.

So all the talk on here from Barney etc that according to all these 'trusted sources' a deal was practically done between the two was nonsense?

The journalists reporting it are reliable. Getting a story wrong doesn't mean that they aren't.

Sturridge is on a 150K a week?

To be honest though, your reliability measurement seems to be based on how much you like what they say.

Considering they have all proven to be completely unreliable.

Whatever you say. Since I've posted on the forum I've always maintained Barrett, Pearce, Bascombe, Joyce, Hunter, Maddock and the likes are reliable. If you can show one post since I've been here that contradicts that, I'll leave the forum tonight. All of those journalists report negatively on Liverpool, but it's evident you don't read their work regularly. None of them would be in the positions that they are if all they did was write what people want to read.

Getting one thing wrong =/= unreliable.

I would love him here but, I doubt he is going anywhere. I think Liverpool will eventually cave to whatever his wage demands are. They can not afford to lose him.

City should be all over him in the summer, they lack a very good winger imo.

Yep. I think Chelsea too. They could just sell Cuadrado back to Italy for 80 percent of what they paid for him to fund it!

They will. Him, his agent and everybody else knows that Liverpool can easily afford to pay him a hefty wage. However, he's been there as long as Hernandez has been with United. He isn't really married to the club. If I were him and would see Bale getting shafted my Real, I'd get my hopes up.

He is not good enough to start for a club like Real Madrid yet.

Hardly as big a deal as it's being made out to be. Two years left on his contract so Liverpool have time to get their act sorted. I think he'll sign a new deal at insane wages.

If anyone ever pays Henderson 150000 a week then I'm done with football

150,000 a week for a 20 year old?

Crazy, but he obviously knows that Pool are desperate to keep him so I'm sure he can get it.

Sturridge will have been waving his big fat pay check around the dressing room and the likes of Sterling will want parity.

I expect Liverpool will dance the dance for several months before meeting his demands.

I can see Coutinho and Sturridge getting frustrated if Sterling leaves after loosing Suarez too. Coutinho will probably seek a move to a team not full of Lallana's and Allen's. He could be an absolute beast in Spain or at City for example.

He's apparently a United fan, isn't he?

He is, not that it means much. The scorer of our most iconic goal in history was a Liverpool fan.
Would love to have Sterling at United but I reckon he'll either stay at Liverpool or go abroad.

He probably wants to see how many more kids he has by then before signing.

I honestly think we should put in a cheeky bid. It'd be fecking hilarious if he tried to push a move here.

This could be a big moment for Liverpool in the grand scheme of things. They need to be make a decision about what kind of football club they want to be.

If they don't cough up and Sterling leaves then it's clear that their days towards the top are short-lived by virtue of their finances. If they do cough up, it could present problems with other players further down the line.
